TroopAlum12
We always told GH he wasn't supposed to drink it! So that's what's in the "red drink" on the food truck...
cowtown
Seeing as how the Indiana Religious Freedom Act threads were closed and trying to respect DCP policy. Does the intent of the Act match with the mission statement of DCI and/or the Corps? How may the Act affect fans or corps while there? Will the Act be taken into consideration for a potential re-negotiation of a long term contact? Will it cost DCI revenue due to fan boycotts of the State? The State Act would override a local ordnance in Indy that prevents against this sort of thing and is written in a way that it could be used against many people by many groups, say a taxi driver objecting to picking someone up from a bar because their religion prohibits alcohol At the least, I’d except some sort of letter from DCI to the governor to express their concerns Edited March 26, 2015 by cowtown
xandandl
cf. Garfield's responses on the closed threads, particularly how the Federal legislation, already in effect has not influenced DCI competing in these same United States. It would be almost impossible to do the DCI tour if those who are proposing a change/boycott would have to absent the 19 similarly legislated states whose gas taxes plus the Federal gas taxes the corps convoys pay as they traverse such places. Is this why Canadian John Phillips is the head judge, in anticipation of the DCI tour being all 10 parts of his Federation??? Back to drum corps. Lincoln
DCI - please bring Finals back to Canada. Toronto or Montreal would be fine. We welcome almost everyone and the CDN dollar is $1.20+ U.S. right now. Edited March 26, 2015 by Lincoln
xandandl
Nah, it's got to be Vancouver! It would satisfy the West Coast crowd who feel neglected, it would satisfy the beach crowd/the mountain crowd/the urban crowd/and those who want to acknowledge the growth of drum corps in the Pacific Rim countries. It has scenery, great restaurants, and city night life for post performance socializing. It is near those units still competing from Alberta, Calgary, and the US Northwest in DCI and WGI. Note Vanc. has already hosted the World with its Olympics. And since no current World Class corps is local (except Cascades), everybody's budget stress would be equally impacted. cf144
Never been to Vancouver but would like to. DCI championship week would be a GREAT excuse to go there. I second the motion.

Lincoln
Thank goodness for Neil Degrasse Tyson - one of the, if not "the" most intelligent people on the planet.
