A few minor uncharacteristic issues in the horn line tonight, but they always are incredible nonetheless. quietcity Posted July 13, 2015 Share Posted July 13, 2015 A few comments before we drive home... Crown's opening statement free of fracks, sounded amazing for being so exposed. And Crown is LOUD! louder than anyone else by far. But with such intonation. A real treat to hear. I can verify the early entrance halfway through the show, a mello or high baritone, I think. Agree the soloist much improved, and that is while covered with fabric and wandering around like a specter. Visually very effective. End of show rather baffling, musically and design-wise. I don't think they really do much with the Beethoven's 9th, except to milk the technically difficult parts. Really an unsatisfying end to an otherwise excellent show.
