WIS
I haven't read everything so sorry if this has been noted before. I was expecting Bluecoats guard to come out from behind the props in the uniforms the rest of the corps wore last year. That would have been truly upside down. 3PoC
I predict Great Gig in the Sky will outright slay both musically and visually once they get the balance between the soloists and corp dialed in just right. I think it is a fabulous arrangement and I and aside from the screaming leads, I love how they unleash the tubas up front at the big hit - massive sound. Precious Roy
No, the music was OK to me. It wasn't great and it wasn't terrible. The Great Gig in the Sky was disappointing to me, because I saw raves about it from some who had attended ST ensembles and it just didn't wow me. The problem for me was, the music seemed secondary and that was proven correct by whomever it was the represented the corps in the Theater showing, as they said they choose the design and tried to fit the music to it. Thanks for the reply. To be honest, I expected more from Great Gig in the Sky as well. I actually (at this point in the season, anyway) enjoyed the Colts version of Great Gig from a couple years ago. And the ending music seemed a wee bit flat to me. But I thoroughly enjoyed everything else. I can live with the visual aspect of things, but totally understand that some people cannot. ChuckH
OMG, I did too. I thought, how odd. What's the meow mix in their show, LOL. You never know these days... If you're asking what the Meow Mix song they used, it was this. Made me laugh out loud in the theater when I heard it. :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTunhRVyREU Regarding the other Meow Mix (the one NOT used by the Cavaliers), I've just rewatched/listened to a few more of the Cyriak videos, and now I'm wondering if a Cyriak show could be horrifyingly feasible. :-) Edited June 25, 2016 by ChuckH

HornTeacher
"Performing their 2017 program, Enhanced Interrogation, Drum Corps International is proud to present..." You mean it's not part of Trooper's "Hero." program?? Or will they be going with "Western Federal Witness" next year....

Only those with the proper security clearance will be able to see the part of the show saluting the unseen heroes. :-)
