N.E. Brigand
Just got back home, and I'm way too tired to read through this thread now, so just four quick thoughts. In my opinion . . . 1. The placements were correct (although I could see two or three possible swaps); 2. The scores suggest DCI was trying to soften the blow these corps will feel at World Class prelims on Thursday; 3. The spreads were hit and miss. For instance, BDB should have been farther out front (they're tremendous); and 4. This was a fantastic show. I've been attending Open Class Finals since 2012. After River City Rhythm performed tonight, I turned to the people sitting next to me (Legends parents, who certainly were the biggest segment of the audience, seeing as the venue is only about 90 minutes from Kalamazoo) and said, "I've never seen a 12th place corps that good." And the performances kept improving from there. Everyone was entertaining; no one felt flat. Kudos particularly to Raiders and 7th Regiment for kicking it up a notch from the performances I'd seen Saturday.
