siletzspey
While hoping to afford flights + hotel for Indy every few years, I'm puzzling a 2023 truck-camper run from Oregon to at least DCI West (Stanford) and Capitol Classic (Sacramento/Roseville). Is there any advice on doing DCI shows by RV? Is there a DCI RV contingent that has some routines down? I might imagine Uber from RV Park to Stadium. Generic advice plus anything specific on Stanford and Sacramento/Roseville much appreciated. Thanks, --tg
TOC
Slow day, but your post siletzspey got me thinking. For those who don't want to do all the walking or uber rides during Finals, why not rent those scooters that many cities have? See if LOS will let folks park them in a secure location to be used for the return trip to hotel, RV park, etc. Just make sure you practice on your children's/grandchildren's scooters first. Just so they don’t run over me like one of those scooters almost did in Atlanta. France just banned them.
Mello Dude
Those scooters are a menace. They go WAY too fast with people that can't drive and you can't make me believe the brakes are good enough to stop 15mph 500lbs+. That's a LOT of potential energy. 1

Thanks, --tg It's probably different now, but in 2012, we rented and RV for DCI Finals and parked it in the stadium parking lot. A friendly employee of the Lucas Oil stadium pointed us to an area where we could plug ourselves into electricity on a pole. Other RV's were in the same area. I don't know if other stadiums have this feature, but it is worth looking into.

I just googled Stanford Stadium, and season football ticket holders can reserve overnight tailgating and RV spots for $135+. West Park High School in Roseville has no apparent overnight options. Has anyone attended a DCI show where tailgating spots were open, or the hosting corps made some arrangements to enable tailgating? Even at $135, it's the right idea for the convenience and comradery. And in the Bay Area, $135/night isn't bad. --tg
