Closers

"1971 was a Fiddler medley without a bottle dance but they had a nice soprano soloist for "Matchmaker" by the name of Wayne Downey."

Best lip trills in the business...until his students, Pete Burnijko, Doug Huras and Larrie Dastrup met Dindi in 1980 (speaking of closers).

They did the Bottle Dance as part of the concert medley in 1972.

Are you sure the year was 72 though ? I read on 3 different sites it was performed first in '73 as part of their concert....( no bigeee on the year, either way though.)

I assume the SCV.org website  itself would know. when the SCV Bottle Dance was first put on the field in competition at SCV. They have it as 1973.

and so does DCI.org..... ( have it as 1973 )

And... SCV history written by presumably folks at SCV itself too, below..... ( all 3 sources connected directly to SCV say it was " 1973 ".... ).

Let me preface this by saying I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning....., but I'm pretty sure the video above is mislabeled as "1972" when it is really 1973, and the first year they did the "bottle dance."  They didn't play "Young People's Guide" in 72 either.  That didn't come until 1973.
