They were pretty solid. I recall the strange name, different uniforms and all. They looked pretty different. Of course, by today’s standards, probably would have fit right in.

IIRC, Pioneer rose out of that merger. 

I actually remember reading about that in high school while I was doing some drum corps research. Thank you for a quick blast from the past.
