Blue Devil Legend
heh....yea '78 was a weird year. The next week went like this: July 8 Allentown, PA DCI East Prelims 1. Scouts- 83.70 2. Regiment- 82.40 3. Bridgemen 81.70 4. Devils 81.50 5. Vanguard 79.80 July 8 Allentown, PA DCI East Finals 1. Devils 83.30 2. Regiment 82.80 3. Scouts 82.60 4. Vanguard 81.95 5. Bridgemen 81.55 July 13 Toronto, Ontario 1. Devils 86.05 2. Scouts 85.10 3. Regiment 84.60 4. Vanguard 83.85 July 15 Whitewater, WI DCI Midwest Prelims 1. Devils 84.00 2. Regiment 83.10 3. Vanguard 83.05 4. Scouts 82.30 July 15 Whitewater, WI DCI Midwest Finals 1. Regiment 86.85 2. Devils 86.30 3. Scouts 85.75 4. Vanguard 85.25 Ya think they were trying to confuse the DC world? This type of fluctuation is kinda hard to figure, ESPECIALLY with the tick system. The next time the big 5 faced each other was at DCI. All corps do not perform precisely the same every night. You have to assume some nights theyre better than others. 78 was a great year for that. everyone in the top 4 sat atop for at least one show. mobrien
I have said it before.. I have blocked the year of 1978 from my memory banks. :) Well, I could get you a copy of the prelims recording if you ever wanna relive the glory of the 78 Cavaliers' show..... ^0^ (another thread about the bad Madison early show in '76 - it had nothing on the trainwreck from Park Ridge in '78...) Scerpella
Actually, the Montreal show was on the 11th, the day after CYO Nationals at Boston College. Youre right because Toronto was a couple of days after Montreal and both of them were after CYO and DCI East. I got the faulty date from fromthepressbox.com
