The most famous (or infamous) one I can think of is Muchachos '75 for marching overage members. I think there was something involving the Crossmen the following year as well with over age members. Geez, I dont think they disqualify anybody for ANYTHING anymore. Rarely see penalties either. Maybe because everything you used to get penalized for is legal now.

the bridgemen placed fourth at finals in '77, but were disqualified because they had marched two overage guys. the bs thing about it was that the overage members had been let go long before finals. bridgemen actually had to take DCI to court so they go perform at Nats.

Wasn't there a flap in '89 when it was revealed that SCV had some overage contras during semifinals? No disqualification there. I watched closely at their finals performance and could not detect any holes in the contra line. Anybody know what happened?

I don't remember the instruments they played, but this has been gone over before.

The two people in question were from the UK used forged birth records...foold not only SCV but US Immigration AND their own home authorities.

Gail Royer booted them the instant they were found out. SC was skilled anough to close the holes....I believe the discovery was just prior to finals week, although an 89 alum would be better able to verify it.

The 89 incident was deemed a no-fault on the part of Vanguard, as they believed the birth records to be accurate and were the victims of a felony (much like porn producers weren't penalized when it was found that Traci Lords had been workming with a forged ID and had, in fact, been underage for her entire porn career)

Interesting you should choose this analogy. I'm sure you know why. We'll make MILLIONS!

If I remember correctly, several holes suddenly appeared in a few other corps right about that same time. The rumor was that other "suspicious birth certificates" suddenly started showing up. Of course, I was a rookie that year, so how much did I REALLY know.... ^0^
