84BDsop
If I remember correctly, several holes suddenly appeared in a few other corps right about that same time. The rumor was that other "suspicious birth certificates" suddenly started showing up. Of course, I was a rookie that year, so how much did I REALLY know.... ^0^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now THAT I'd never heard before....
DCIHasBeen
Actually Santa Clara never filled the holes ... One was in the horn line, the other was a snare drummer (as I recall he went back home and marched DCUK right afterwards as the go up to 25 there.) Vanguard's sitch not withstanding, being disqualified basically makes the kids pay for the irresponsible actions of the parents. It sucks. SkyRyder_FMM
If memory serves correctly, the following corps have been disqualified by DCI: 1975 Hawthorne Muchachos 1976 Corssmen 1977 Bridgemen 1984 Les Eclipse All were disqualified for marching overage members. DCImonkey
The interesting thing about Bridgemen 77 is that they were DQ'ed after prelims, got a court injunction so they'd be able to perform on Finals night and later were ultimately disqualified after binding arbitration later in the fall. 1977 also happened to be the ONLY year in DCI that there were 13 Finalists....Garfield and Kilties tied for 12th place during prelims allowing that extra corps to compete. HOW CONVENIENT! HMM

MsBusDriver
Vanguard's sitch not withstanding, being disqualified basically makes the kids pay for the irresponsible actions of the parents. How do you figure? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not getting to compete in finals or having their finals score thrown out after working their ##### off all summer long is how legitimate junior corps members "pay" for the irresponsible actions of the staff (if they knew of overage members) AND the parents of those overage members as they know full well their "real" birthdates. Not to mention the overage members themselves who knew full well they shouldn't have been marching to begin with. KungFuCharlie
(much like porn producers weren't penalized when it was found that Traci Lords had been workming with a forged ID and had, in fact, been underage for her entire porn career) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, she made one movie after she was of age. drumlaw80
Fyi, in 2000, the San Francisco Renegades played a show entitled A Renegade Suite: The music of every corps ever kicked out of DCI. It featured music from the Muchachos, Bridgemen and the Crossmen. ^0^
