I'll babysit for you if you're at the hotel that would be easier I guess. Will the reunion be in autumn sometime? Probably you know how we always have it in November for some reason..lol..:) :P I may take you up on the babysitting offer..but we may leave him with my folks...depends. :)
TennTux
I don't believe I've put this one up yet! Looks like Manning Bowl - World Open 1969 maybe.Stephanie, Patty B. is in this photo, as are many other people that we still see around today! Also, I love Guard Captain Janet Strazzulla's white hat on the far left.....oh did I love the white aussie on the dm and captain and her bearing---people still talk about it today.... Nancy, I would say that it is Manning Bowl...(looks like the Manning Bowl light towers) GREAT PICS!! (IMHO, coming from someone that lived in Lynn, Mass (across the street from Manning Bowl) AND that was there at the ' 69 WO! b**bs ) From corpsreps.com (W.O. sburstall
It definitely is not the Buccaneers. And by the way Mr. Burstall, are your eyes going (or memory)? It's black, red and CREAM, not white. Buccaneers's first year was 74 and had the same uniform for the duration into the 80s.Regards, John Swartz Cream, white....hard to tell the difference from above. :P Mike and Annie were definately in white. MikeD
Troopers, Casper, WY @ 1987 US Open, Marion, OH The brass judge in the front of the picture, the guy with the red baseball cap, is Dr Baggs son, also named Bernie. He and I were very good friends in college; both of us were music ed majors. Bernie was an usher in my wedding, actually. After I left fuill-time teaching in 1980 I taught his drum lines when he was a band director, at three different schools. Bernie was the only boy....he has six sisters. One of them, Joan Penney, still judges a lot.
uncle z
Blue Notes, as you said, came down so infrequently I don't remember what they looked like. What I do remember is wondering who the heck they were coming in and kicking everyone's but once or twice a year. Here's the corpsreps picture from '64.....i have a black-and-white from '74 and the uni looks pretty much the same. Does this help any? bluecoats88
Old Ohio is my Hero. Each photo brings back memories. There's our good friend John "Phil" Phillips setting up pit equipment That's staff member Bill Thissen. He marched Bluecoats in the early 80s and then went on to march with Garfield Cadets in 81-82. I think he took a couple years off for college but came back to Canton to age out in 85. Is all this right Phil? Yes that was me setting up the cymbal. Not sure why Bill didn't keep marching Cadets, but he didn't come back to age out with us, he was on staff and when we needed snares he stepped into the line in 1985 since he was only 21 although he looked 15. in that line we also had another returning snare who marched Phantom in 1983 & 1984 named John Kowal.
