The Loudest Crowd Response ....

I've been posting here at DCP since 2002...shortly after it was born. I've noticed, in those years, there seems to be some discrepancy over who can lay claim to as having the loudest crowd response in (semi-modern/post tick system) DCI history.

So....have at it!

I voted for Madison. Listening to that recording, you can hardly hear the corps for the last minute of the show. To me, it's not only the loudest but the longest-sustained response.

If I had to RANK your choices, but purely on memory, I would go with this:

1. 1995 Madison closer

2. 2003 Phantom resolution

3. 1992 VK (practically a tie with Phantom 2003)

4. 2002 The Cavaliers "Fight Club"

5. 1997 Madison closer

I think Crossmen 1997 should be on that list... THAT was a crowd response.

but if it was, my vote would still go to 2003 Phantom.

Easily Madison 95.

There are at least 5 or 6 spots throughout the entire show where the crowd goes absolutely nuts and you can hear nothing but loud, wild screaming. B)

Although the recordings don't do it justice, I was there and I have to say the 88' Scouts show (Malaguena) was the longest and the loudest! People were on their feet going nuts several bars before the end! Kinda like 97' but the recording of that show picked up crowd response more. But I was at both of those finals and I have to say 88' was louder!

What about '99 Scouts at Camp Randall? I thought that was the loudest response I've ever heard.

The loudest isn't even on the list: 1994 27th Lancers' Reunion Corps. Hands down.

Honorable Mention: 1982 SCV, 1988 Madison, 1995 Madison
