I just remembered, the Nighthawks were from Houston.... Nevermind. Edited January 6, 2006 by Russellrks
GGarrett
Offensive Lions in 1980 at Whitewater, WI ... 8 bass drummers. They had a great walking/marching beat where they sang part of it as well. Very cool!

Very cool! That reminds me of when Pioneer used to do Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" as a walking beat...... OT, but I'm probably one of the heads in the stands, there.... :P

JCSeymour
Here's one:What corps made the cut for the 1971 American Legion National Championship Finals, but had to withdraw because they didn't have a full length (11-1/2 to 13 minute) show prepared? (All they had learned was the 5-1/2 minute prelim show because they didn't think they had a snowball's chance of making finals) I don't remember the name of the corps.thought it was something like Red Raiders. I do however know who took their place. The Menominee Northernaires. We couldn't believe we going to Finals, and march in the Astro Dome. After reading some, Could it be. JimF-LowBari
What Jr corps won both the VFW and American Legion Championships in the same year? Also list any corps that have won both but in different years. There should be a couple as I know of two Sr corps off the top of my head.
