megan_marie15
allaina... would this be the 'oh capital our regiment eight hundred dollars we have spent...' and so forth? :P
leadsop97
In 2004 some of our members toweards the end of Spanish Fantasy 4 liked to say something about water, being thirsty, and needing a drink. I don't remember it though. I'm sure Brian will post it on here at some point because he was singing it this weekend at camp.
MUMarchingthunder04
a friend of mine that was in spirit in the late 70's-early 80's said he used to sing "we are the regiment and we like fourth place" to Phantom when they played the 1812 overture. Elmo Blatch
I think that's: "I march in Phantom 'cause I like fourth place." Just the way I remember it... Elmo Blatch
whiterose
ALSO, am I the only person who sings "Goooing home, goooooing home" to the New World Symphony baritone solo of PR '89? I SWEAR I heard some kind of song sung to that tune with those words, but every time I say that people look at me weird! *expects more weird looks* I think a little girl sings it in an insurance commercial or something like that. krazyivan
i haven't done it to anything other than the cadence. which normaly breaks down to alot of workds i can't say here. finishing with my knees hurt like and a few more words i can't say here. but the hornline for my corp will normaly make up it's own cadences that doesn't match one being played by the drums. like the song that was whistled in "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (or if you don't know it. it's the fight song from the freshprince of belair. "peacocks we're march the field peacocks and we refuse to lose. peacocks we are the peacocks of ula" or somethign like that. someone who knows that show better might be able to fix that) or else if someone is out of step a coupple people will chant." left left you gotta step off on your left. left or you'll be outta step on your right." Kimberly
At the end of the opener in '85 we would sing "dah, dah, dah, daaahhhhh, Ty-REE." (Tyree was a snare) In 86 during the soprano solo in Silverado, the mellos would sing "this should be a mellophone soloooo." During Magnificent 7 (I think in 86 or 87--and too lazy to look it up) the lead sops would sing something like "take off your shorts baby, take off your shirt baby..." And I think everyone knew the Phantom song... I PLAY CON-TRA BASS. :P

Minimaster
Someone came up with words to it and put the music to it. It is at the end of the 89 Regiment video yearbook. Goin' Home is a popular song set to the melody of the Largo movement that has been around for a hundred years.
