SkyRyder_FMM
In 86, we overheard one of the staff members of Garfield tell the corps to get of the rental bus at a show. That night on our bus trip, this emerged (Sung to 86 Garfield's On the Waterfront -the last part/fast movement): Get off the rental bus Get off the bus Get off the rental bus Get off the bus Get off the, get off the the Get off the, get off the Rental Bus, NOW Another from 86 - on a bus ride, someone asked to please pass the cooler up. Almost in unison, several people burst out to the tune "We're Off to See the Wizard": Please pass the cooler up Please pass the cooler up now Please pass the cooler Please pass the cooler up right now Please pass the cooler up Pleeeeaasssseee pass the cooler up

DrumCorpsFan27
I think a little girl sings it in an insurance commercial or something like that. No, it's a battery commercial. They cut from her to Bon Jovi and back and forth.

FTNK
Had to post in this one because this was basically my JOB last year. At least, I did it constantly. There was one show where we performed terribly and our brass caption head, Derek Gipson, and program coordinator took turns giving us 15 minute lectures about how badly we did. That night on the bus I sang, to the baritone line from the closer, "The show was bad, Derek was mad doo doo doo doo dooooo..." and so on. MsBusDriver
From 87 Sky Ryders - to the tune of "Somewhere" from West Side Story...There's a place for us And it's on Gary's bus (became "Maggie's bus" when I moved to SCV) HEY, that's ME! b**bs I remember that. Thanks for keeping me laughing Brad and Co., it made my "job" so much better ^OO^ On topic. Some place, I believe it was '73, the buses broke down around 2:00am and it happened to be RIGHT NEXT to a bread factory. All we could do was sit on the curb and smell that bread baking... Pure torture. Anyway, we sung this to the tune of "Do you love me?" from Fiddler (naturally) "Are you hungry?" "Am I what?" "Are you hungry?" "Am I hungry." "Well..." "With the buses breaking down, nothing open in this town, you're upset, you're worn out, go inside, go lie down. Maybe it's indigestion!" I'm sure there was more to it but I was too hungry then to remember it all.

dc oldtimer
Sure, I could but: 1) My alumni rights would be stripped from me. 2) My DCP rights would be stripped from me 3) The FCC would shut this site down. In other words, what we sang was not for the faint of heart or for some of you youngins to hear/read.
mgailp
Totally OT ... our brass caption head, Derek Gipson, and program coordinator took turns giving us 15 minute lectures about how badly we did. Is that Derek from Louisiana who aged out w/ the Cadets (I think) @ '98? If so, tell Ego (Derek) that Gail says Hi! I'm glad to see he grew into his nickname ./OT
