capregrookie05
I think it adds more to the GE to see the pit looking pretty b-a. I love watching pits just whip out those runs as if it's nothing.
aatlb25
On the field... that would just be ridiculous <**>
madscout96
How about when 2 guys from Madison's pit went off to the side and formed their own kick line during "King Herod's Song" in 1999??

gbass598
Pit players should just perform with natural boday movements. They shouldn't overexagerate anything because it looks cheesy and un-natural.
CornoBehnke
ha well when I was in pit I would run from the bass drum to the marimba really fast and in semi finals I knocked over the danm marimba cause there was mud everywhere. Does that count??? I love watching people stare at the pit cause some kid is running around with the traps and stuff.
CornoBehnke
I know a Div 3 corps in 2000 did lion king and dressed the pit in like animal suites, its really funny to me now but I think it added a lot of GE.
Snapettes Mom
Pits are cool. I liked what the Empire Statesmen had to offer in 2004. Excellent unison movement. East Coast Jazz was scattered around the field with their pit in 2002. Random question. Is reverb allowed if you play hits from the 70's. yellowbusredux
1994 and 1995 SCV, and some early 80's SCV Pits. Ed Teleky has this whole "Universal Technique" program that utilizes exagerated but uniform body movements on the inital attacks and then on the releases. He brought that with him to SCV when he was writing the PIT book in 94 and 95. Never a big fan of that style, though. I much prefer natural body movements and a technique program that has transfer value to other percussion instruments in other genres and pays more attention to a relaxed feel. But that's just my opinion.

We weren't big fans either, but if done correct it shows good uniformity between the members of the "team" ie. listening/watching each other for dynamics cues, etc............ Our section leader has been playing in Teleky pits since her high school days in Pennsylvania..........
