GGarrett
I'm very happy to report that the Madison Scouts all Alumni Corps camp this weekend is an absolute success, and for anyone wondering if this could be pulled off, WONDER NO MORE! JUST AMAZING TO BE HERE participating in this, and hearing the beautiful full sounds of a classic Madison hornline (90!) and drumline (55! 22 snares!) and a surprisingly agile and energetic guard (30!) is nothing short of spectacular. All expectations exceeded with this huge turnout of guys. As one of the guys put it tonight after the hornline blew us all away..."not bad for a bunch of old f@*t's!!" The charts are spectacular, energy is high and chops are incredibly still there!! Another day of camp still to go here in Madison tomorrow. Pictures to be posted here tomorrow... You will NOT want to miss this performance at Semi-finals!

GGarrett
I stand corrected!! It sounded like 200 to me! As Scott always said: "New Scout's or old...we're all part of the same team!" It sure felt that way to me. Playing in that drumline with guy's from the '50's and 60's Scout corps was a real honor...and very inspiring and humbling! Here's a few more pics: Anyone recognize this guy? That would Robert Pilot himself with his BACK to me... :mmm: This would be former Drum Major Mr. Dan Veerhusen! Hey! It's our own DCP photo submitter rrheinlen (Roma) and moi'! What a cutey! ^OO^ What a great weekend! Edited February 27, 2006 by GGarrett
tgk2779
Hey Guys!, Have you taken out any form of Liability Insurance after Camp Randall implodes with the crowd response of your anticipated performance?..... or are you planning to have those guys from Golf Tournaments with the "QUIET PLEASE" signs in the stands while you're performing???? (I'll be the guy in the upper deck with a hard-hat and a parachute!)

Roark1
I love the second pic. down . Look at the feet, horn angles, elbows !!!! There's no school like the old school! Those photos show so much of the Madison attitude that the Corps has had through all of it's history.
