oldsoprano
There were serious problems finding housing for all the corps when finals were at U. of Md. Of course for a regional, they would only be housing the Div. 1 corps, so it would be a little easier.
Tank
The last time I was at Maryland they didn't have that upper deck, my got that picture makes it almost look straight up in the air! Was that there when DCI finals were in Maryland? Yes. I was in said upper deck, and wow, was it high. Of the four candidates, I would probably only go to U. of MD. Michael Boo
Last night even with the upper deck closed the two outside sections on both sides were empty. I realize they are not good seats, but they have been more full in the past even with the upper deck closed... I'm not saying you are doing so, but some might be comparing Friday night this year to Saturday night in a previous year...the last show they would remember. Saturday night attendance in Allentown always goes up from Friday...I guess many people can't take off work early on Fridays.
jetman1287
The cool thing about Allentown is the surrounding area where you can hang out during the day and watch rehearsals and walk to wherever you want to go and dci basically owns the place. Hopefully the new place (is it even true that they are moving it?) will have that same atmosphere. But of the rest, I would go for Rutgers. The only negative I see is that it's really hilly/laid out kind of in a strange area.
RUFreak
The highways around Rutgers University just went through some major renovations that makes it much easier to get around. There is PLENTY of parking and warm up space. I go with RU.....yes I am an alumni :)

George
re: attendance on Friday - they were selling tickets on the minus 10 to minus 15 yard line that SUCKS - I vote for MD because we can seat the audience between the 20's - not outside the goal posts :)
Triple Forte
Rutgers loses points in my book for being in Jersey :P Heh.....thats my state your picking on...... Mr. Indiana "corn fields the whole length of route 80 :P "!!!! Seriously though.....I had attended a large marching band show at Rutgers stadium two years ago and it was an "excellent" fan experience. It is also probably the closest to Allentown....so a lot of the fans would not have to drastically change their travel plans. Plus.....as someone mentioned, a lot of the volunteers would not have to travel much further than they do now. So....my vote is for Rutgers (BTW....there were some great jr/sr corps shows at Rutgers that were awesome....1986 comes to mind Triple Forte
Newseditor44
I could be wrong, but I thought I read something that said there was no San Antonio show next year. Can anyone confirm?
