Just because it's a competition and it's being shown on ESPN2 does not make it sport. Get real! Golf is a sport , Nascar is a sport (I don't understand this one), so why is it hard to believe that Drum Corps is a sport. There is so much physically going on, you have to be in shape (or get there). So, then ... would the Fox network TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" be a sport? It's a competition, and it requires at least as much physically as drum corps. Heck, in the world of competitive ballroom dancing, they've already given it the annoying newspeak name "Dancesport." IMO, drum & bugle corps is a performing art that happens to be judged. If corps is a sport, what about an international piano or violin competition? Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. So with those 2, i'd say drum corps is most definitely a sport.
