Great thread--boy there have been some good runner-up's! I have to apologize to '89 Regiment but I voted for '06 Faust--never saw New World live--didn't even know about DCI until '91--but oh, what a show it is!

I've mentioned elsewhere that I was out of the activity from '98 to '04. Saw the spring cinecast and 1/4's in '04 and '05, saw the corps (excuse me...THE corps) at rehearsal in Wylie, TX in '05 the day after San Antonio. Then the 50th Anniversary thing in Rockford was my first time to see the corps in uniform live since the black uni's in The Ring in '97. I was in San Antonio for business this year and got to see the entire show. So I got to see the corps for the first time in '91 with a hot show, took a long break, and came back with Faust--what a story!

Hats off to Star '93--another one I saw live! I posted this story elsewhere, but here's for those of you that haven't seen it yet. Classiest thing I ever saw was retreat in '93. This was before America/Oh, Canada when all the corps played their encore piece and corps song and marched out. Well, everybody else departs leaving Star and Cadets, Star does their thing, the corps marches off leaving their DM and Cadets DM's. Star's DM does that weird/cool salute they did that year, Cadets return salute--and they just hold it for about a year and a half!! Star's DM releases--AND BOWS!! Comes up, marches off, Cadets DM's FINALLY release their salute, and the corps takes the field in encore performance.

Classy, Star--classy! I miss Star...

Star '93 is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen. :worthy: Star's show from that year made me a huge fan of drum corps overall. Definitely an out there show, but that is how "artsy" shows should be done. If only BK could do a show like that.

'90 Cavies. What can I say?

Close 2nd is 1993. Star probably should have won.
