angelbugler
Did anyone catch that one bass drummer who was really hyping the toes up and had good posture? Every now and then the production would go high cam and reveal how crappy the drumline A. Marched their dots or B. Dressed the form etc.... I couldn't help to think watching the pre game festivities with Cirque acrobats bands etc that this is Hopkin's dream of DCI. Weak! \
tubawarrior
umm, i would ask if you have ever seen the movie "Drumline" or have any experience with southern college marching bands?
Walter
I'm not a Prince fan so I didn't bother to watch the half time show !!!
raphael18
I'm not big on Prince either - but it was one of the best ones they've had in years. I particularly enjoyed his medley of songs towards the end. As for the band...its a show band, they have their own standards. It was cool for what it was. It's ignorant for you to judge them based on different standards. They did a great job for what they were doing. Poo poo on someone else. Nice job Rattlers. oldtimedrummer
I went to get a beer when Prince came on. :mmm: , so I missed most of the halftime, although I did catch some of those glow in the dark things on the band unis. That's when I went to get another beer Edited February 5, 2007 by oldtimedrummer
CORNEVIE
Totally different style of marching. If you know anything about HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) marching bands, then you will know that DCI practices are nothing compared to what these bands go through. If you ever have the opportunity to attend a HBCU football game you will also find that they play all knds of music including classical very very well from memory. The halftime show did not do Florida A and M band any justice to their true ability. Ask someone from Florida State's band.
angelbugler
Not talking about the halftime band, I'm talking about the pregame drumline....... The halftime band was as always out of sight. Though, those sounds would definately knock them out of the running.... sigh..
