Possible Name Change?

Recommended Posts

With all the recent discussion suggesting that drum corps and DCI officially change the name since many argue that it technically no longer uses bugles, I figured I'd open up a thread for suggestion.

Why not call it the North American Marching Brass League & Association...?

Too long. Needs to be shorter and to the point, not only that but by saying North American, you are excluding any groups from overseas to participate.

Something like Marching Brass International maybe......MBI

Uh, you DO know that there's another particular association with those same initials that DCI would do well NOT to resemble, right?

I really don't think DCI is changing its name anytime soon.

But as long as you're making suggestions, I am really surprised that you didn't come up with something more along the lines of:

the Drumming Alliance of National & International Ensembles League, a Radical Assembly of Youth

I am willing to guess that the original poster is well aware of that...thus making this thread a joke
