  2. 2. Are there any of these which you feel the placement should be reversed, and if so, which do you feel the strongest about?

  3. 3. What's the reason for your feelings about the switch?

    • There wasn't one I felt should be reversed; I actually think the judges got it right every time.
      7
    • I just enjoyed or was more entertained by the second place show more.
      22
    • I think the second place show was better designed.
      26
    • I think the second place show was better performed.
      27
    • I think the second place show was better designed, better performed, AND more entertaining than the first place show.

Best top 2: 1999, followed closely by 2004

Year for Switch: 2003, edging 1989

Reason: More complete program, and no slouch of a performance

2006 due to the fact that the top 3 were all so incredible, were all within a point, were 3+ points up on the field, and any of the three could have walked off the field with the Championship. Wow! Otherwise I would have said 93 or 89.

1993. Possibly the most affective (not effective--Affective!) show in DCI history? Look at what happened to the activity after that show. I don't think I've seen another show get so many comments like that one did. Good, bad, and ugly comments from all sides. Cadets were good, and VERY clean from the first week. But Barber & Bartok is one of those rare shows that didn't just entertain, it didn't just blow your face off--it changed the activity in a fundamental way.

Best First and Second place shows- 2006. Very different styles, yet both were very effective in conveying their themes, and also well-performed. I love both those shows very much. :)

Switch the places- 2003. While I like BD's show from that year, I adore the design of Spin Cycle. Thought it was robbed. :(

Why? - I think the Cavaliers show was designed better.

93 = best top ten by a mile. I think people forget about Cadets in 93 and are content to just talk about how Star should have won. Cadets an absolutely insane amount of visual demand that year (I don't think it has or ever will be topped) coupled with an extremely emotional musical book. There's no doubt in my mind which corps should have won in 93, which is saying a lot considering Star 93 is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I chose 99 for the second part, BD should've won outright, because their show was better designed, better performed, AND more entertaining than SCV's

1993 -- Cadets and Star were just incredible, both performed so well and so starkly different from each other but great in their own right.

HM: 1984, 1987, 2000

I probably wouldn't switch any year, to be honest, unless you count choosing one tie to win and the other not (then I'd probably pick Phantom to win in 1996)...otherwise, I would probably switch 2006 because I believe Phantom was better designed, higher demand, and more entertaining (that doesn't really matter), and better performed than Cavies.

Hard to pick just one, but I went for 87 as the strongest and 89 as a mistake.

Ditto.

Best Top 2: Went with 2000...Cavies and Cadets both had amazing shows that year!

Year I would've switched: Immediately before coming on here I was watching BD 2001 and said "I agree with the tie between BD and Cadets for sure...but it should've been a tie for first!!!" Both of those shows (BD's Awayaday Blue and Cadets' Juxtaperformance) were far superior to Four Corners in my book.
