Downingtown and Bayonne!

Recommended Posts

Gloversville.... Fran was a witness. IIRC, he owes Sun his life on that one.

A tamer one was when Donnie towed him behind his Mercury Lynx while he was belly flopped on his skateboard, holding on to the Lynx's rear bumper wearing his Superman cape on the City Island parking lot.

That one looked actually fun and something worth trying, well, if you didn't fall off the skateboard and let go when it got fast enough but not too fast.

Star thought. (1$ to George Parks)

My guess is corps rehearse more now so there's less free time available for people like him to get into mischief. :satisfied:

or the time wearing his Superman cape he tried to stop a train at Shik.

or when he tried to "fly" over the bushes at Hershey

or when he broke his finger on the last note of the show at finals in 83...

or...LOL

Corps performing at Bayonne this year will be in for a nice treat- a brand new artificial turf field that was literally just finished off this past week.

Never been out to a show here, but from every picture I've seen, the previous field has looked, shall we say, difficult to march on, so this should be a very welcome upgrade for everybody performing here.

Anyone looking for a place to eat in Bayonne on show day...

The Venice Restaurant on Cottage Street... a legendary drum corps hangout for many years... has great thin-crust pizza and other Italian goodies.

A bit closer to the show site, may I suggest Hendrickson's Corner, at Broadway and 31st Street.

Been there several times... the food is always good. And the French onion soup is off the hook.

Take the PATH WTC-Newark to Exchange Place OR the 33rd Street to Hoboken. You will want to find the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to Bayonne. Get off the 34th Street stop. Walk all the way down 34th Street to Avenue A.

(do not walk across highway looking portion towards stores - the is the opposite of the direction you need) Take a left on Avenue A. Bayonne High School is only 5 streets up off 29th Street if I recall correctly. The field is in the back of the school.
