SCV used their props at this show last year. Why is it a problem now. And why was this not a problem when the facility was booked.

Just because a Drill is hard or you think it is hard doesn't make it effective.

Do the music judges care if the performer is standing, sitting, or doing a 50 yard dash while playing. I don't think so. Now the GE judge might, however just because something is hard doesn't define effective. Even something hard performed well doesn't define effective.

This is what my eyes and ears told me last year watching the flomarching streams and was confirmed by what I witnessed live in Indy. My eyes and ears are telling me the same this year.

It is as simple as this. BD consistency is due to their ability to replace exiting talent with equal incoming talent. These corps that dropped to 4th/5th the year after winning did not.

Let's assume that Crown, Boston, Cavies, ect all have an instruction and design staff equal to SCV and BD. Then the real issue is do they have the depth of talent equal to SCV and BD. My guess based on the past few years is no. This is why it takes a fews years to show the MMs that the corp has what it takes to compete, and then they will be able to compete for the top recruits and win the gold.

I hate PC shows! I get enough this white man shame from the news. Don’t need it while watching a drum corps show.

I was at show tonight. Coats aren't keeping because they are not performing at SCVs level in any caption.

There was a SCV Cadet parent post before the season started that there wasn't any 2017 cadets "Brass" members that made the 2018 A corps.

Every corps at this show enjoyed a huge point increase and all more than Crown did. Just saying.

It's pretty simple. At separate shows corps A beats corps B by 2 pts, corps B beats corps C by 2 pts. It can then be rationalized that corps A would beat Corps C by 4 points. It's a guesstimate, not a fact, for where things might compare.

Just stop. SCV score is not inflated. Beat Knights by 7.3, similar margin as recent previous shows. Same night BK scores 78.95, Stars 78.75, Mandarines 78.6, Regiment 78.9. Stars, Mandarines, Regiment have been swapping close wins in recent shows together and are essentially even. Knights beat Mandarines by 1.55 in their last meeting. So unless Mandarins have caught Knights, either SCV and Knights are under scored or Stars, Mandarines, Regiment were over scored and therefore so was Devils as they were in the same contest as Regiment. Assuming Mandarines have caught Knights (thought doubful) then it can be argued that SCV is 7.3 ahead of Regiment who BD beat by 5.9. Comparing scores then shows SCV is 1.4 ahead of BD which is exactly what the scores show (SCV 86.25, BD 84.8). Do the math.

If my research is correct, only once in DCI history has the final 12 repeated. 1987-1988.
