  1. Hey there! I am totally ready for the season!

Are you going to the theater tomorrow?

    -Allen

  2. I am noticing a lot of repertoire from the DCI 1991 season being played this year from various corps....
  3. Yeah, I remember Suncoast 1986 version of Adventures in Time. That was a great show (didn't they win a bras sub-caption that year?). I really love Blue Devils 1991 show! But remember that the Adventures in Time section was just the opener. The Bird and Bela in B-flat was the majority of the show and NOBODY can and will ever play it like the Blue Devils hornline did! It is probably the show that I listen to the most on my mp3. I believe the Blue Devils won the visual ensemble subcaption in 1991 to boot!
  4. Recaps are being updated as throughout the night......check in dci.org
  5. That score is up on the recap page on dci.org ....I guess they are updating recaps as the show goes along....
  6. Funny! In town with family and friends and we are ready for some drum corps!!!!
  7. Great review! So is Crown and Bluecoats going to be in Edmond tonight?
  8. I was with Merced, too. Hmmmm.... probably a couple of years before you. I guess being familiar with Fantasia's show made BD's show more accessible to me in a musical sense than most people. I knew what to expect and was familiar with a lot of the musical ideas throughout the program.
  9. You must mean Beyer HS. We marched during the same era. Anyway, this is nothing new. I new exactly what we were in for when BD announced the source music being "City of Glass". I immediately thought of Fantasia's winterguard show. However, the similarities end for me there. I do hear a lot of the winterguard music in the closer of BD's show this year. I love both shows!
  10. Anyway you want it.....how that for intermission music.
  11. 84.50 BD 80.70 SCV 74.10 Academy 70.25 Pacific Crest 68.10 Mandarins 72.15 Gold 69.90 Revolution
  12. Was at the show last night. The guard uniforms aren't minimalistic at all. But, I think that they still work for the show! The show is quite "the experience" for me. I can't stop thinking about it. Can't wait to see it again!
  13. In Clovis now and ready to get my first dose of drum corps for the summer! Went by the rehearsal and saw a little bit of the warmups.....I am excited!!!!
  14. I noticed the audience didn't really react enthusiastically to many shows other than HNC....this could be because it was a home show for them and they had some type of alumni function there. That being said, it could mean that there were some Garfield 1987 alumni there that might not be so impressed with there show. I sat next to some in Dallas and they had some words to say about it. However, I don't think that would make it a reason not to applaud. Regardless, they have a GREAT show this year and I am sure the crowd will be much more enthusiatic at Indy.
  15. Evening, BlueOriginal.....still hot in Palm Springs? I will be back in September. Hey, where are all the updates on the show tonight!?!?!?
  16. Great Review! I couldn't agree more about Boston Crusaders!!!! WOW! I saw them for the first time in Dallas last night. I didn't want the show to end!!!! Totally unexpected. Kudos to the guard.....our section in the stands gave an extra round of applause for the guard as they trooped the stands!
  17. No shadow that I was aware of.......I was really impressed with how well the stadium made all corps sound!
  18. Volunteering at the show Sunday in Denton. Now that's a stadium. Yeah, I went to the Denton show last year and was impressed with the stadium! I most likely will go to the Denton show, too. It is pretty close to where I am staying.
  19. Scores via phone call Open Class 58.95 Incognito 59.55 Impulse 64.80 Mystical 65.50 Velvet Knights 67.65 Gold World Class 67.30 Pacific Crest 70.05 Mandarins 73.15 Academy 79.70 Bluecoats 84.10 Blue Devils
  20. Well stated! I guess that is what I was trying to say. All in all, after my first live viewing of the show last night, I am excited for the show in Riverside tonight! Unfortunately, I won't see any more shows in person until Dallas, TX. I am looking forward to see all the groups back to back!
  21. Great to see you back, BlueOriginal!!!! Geez, I didn't get that impression at all will SCV and BD! I thought both shows were very enjoyable. Although, I found the only thing memorable in SCV was the company front section. BD on the other hand, has a show that had a lot of innovative elements. Some will appreciate it, and some will find it distracting. I am excited to see how the closer is going to be.
