Yes, a designer's commentary (or anybody's) would be great! Of course I always watch my dvd movies with the director's audio commentary so I like things like that. Will the OP be contacting DCI with the results of this thread?

Me too! Or was it a '79 or '80 PBS broadcast? Regardless I guess I didn't realize that I could go to local shows or anything, it was all kind of hit and miss. What got me hooked and in the loop was seeing my first live show in 1985. Santa Clara's "Magic Pants" show. [edited to remove youtube video link] To this day SCV and Madison are my sentimental favs.

That is a good point. Although if you do have to show a video, turn up the volume really loud.

My supervisor at work wants to see a show. I have selected 2006 Cavaliers "Machine" to show her. It's on the 2008 Countdown dvd. She was teasing me saying it sounded boring when I told her for my vacation I was going to two drum & bugle corp competitions. So I wanted to pick one that was exciting, as opposed to beautiful (2010 Phantom), or cerebral (1993 Star).

Oh that's great. I just missed 90% of the BD show. My video feed showed an empty field but people moving around on the sideline so I thought I had a live feed. I decided to restart it and BD is closing their show!

I saw them live in Broken Arrow, OK. When the entire corp (Cadets) has the light-flashing poles it's incredible. Easily the coolest GE effect of the year.

I got an email back from the Van Buren event planning team. They were apologetic but they said they had to follow the no-reentry policy of the facility.

It gets my vote for "Best GE Effect of the Night" at Broken Arrow. When the entire corp has the light-flashing poles the effect is mesmerizing. I was thinking about it when I woke up this morning.

That's fine. No problem since I know you didn't mean it that way. I saw where you had a similar problem. That is nice you accepted their apology. I don't really expect or need an apology. There is nothing they can do now to make up for the perfectly crappy last half of the show I had. I know a person's attitude has a lot to do with how they enjoy things, but my butt was sore and my back was hurting. This old fart needed his cushion and Advil!

You may not have intended it, but your question implied that I should not have made my original post. But let's let that drop. We don't need to go in circles on that. To answer your question, like I said, after I made my original post I heard back from DCI and they will contact the local chair whoever that is. Before I gave a nice pit performer girl from Pioneer my program, she said she collects programs from all of their shows, I took a picture of a page that had some emails on it. I sent them an email but I haven't heard back.

Thank you TwoValves. I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps this thread will raise awareness so this won't happen at other shows. As DCI said, they want to encourage the social aspects of attending a show, so being allowed to leave the stadium to listen to warm-ups, etc should be allowed.

Last night at Broken Arrow we were "blueing" after the Bluecoats show and this lady in front of us jerked around and was giving us the stink eye with her mouth gaping open. Then someone told her we were "blueing" not "booing".

It is beautiful! Madison has my favorite show this year. But then again, they and SCV are always my sentimental favs.

By the time I spoke with three more event staff, I said two earlier, but I spoke with three more, it was time to go back to my seat. It still amazes me how each one claimed it was "DCI policy" like they had been coached to say that as if anticipating problems. I was told the guy to talk to was the guy guarding the gate and he had already said I had to pay to get back in if I left. There is only so much time during intermission.
