  1. if they ever get a microburst preceding a storm while on that scaffolding, they are gonna find themselves flying through the air...
  2. To me it looks like a lawsuit just waiting to happen...
  3. shoulda used San Fran Giants pitcher Brian Wilson as the model!!! he has, what I call, a civil war beard...
  4. generally, those that espouse closed mindedness are...well....close minded.
  5. if you've only heard the low def version on "that" site, I'd suggest you do yourself a favor and find the high def version...a lot more low end.
  6. Well, common sense must be applied...which doesn't happen much lately. Anyone following the thread knows which direction I was heading with this statement. I can understand taking out tympani for a year if it doesn't fit the music. Heck, after listening to the Phantom concert, they really need to ditch the drum set...it just doesn't fit. Removing an instrument for the reason of expediency, however, is a different matter. G Bugles were removed for expediency...cymbal lines were removed for expediency.
  7. Skewie like... edit...drum set has got to go...it don't fit.
  8. to steal a quote from "A League of Their Own" Jimmy Dugan: It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great.
  9. if they don't want this, why do they keep changing things towards this direction?
  10. I was on the 50 last year for quarters 2 rows below the press box. Even there, you get some of the wonderful boom that LOS so graciously provides, but it was by far the best spot I've for music in LOS that I've sat in.
  11. G bugles...cymbals...tympani... next will be tubas and marimbas... I know it's been said many times by many people, and it sounds so silly when they say it but...it's heading towards a pit full of synths, and a huge guard. If that's what people want, I guess that's what they want, but I won't be supporting it.
  12. Boston's example of the Matrix theme hook was pretty awesome...SCV helicopter...Madison and Bluecoats have both done some innovative things with percussion....
  13. I don't think you can get high enough in LOS to see the visual and not have the music be compromised a bunch...
  14. that's the problem...it's business, not entertainment. Win at all costs, even if the fan's don't appreciate it. I'd love to see BD go undefeated...with a show that has melodies and is more fan oriented. There are leaders and followers. If the leader is doing "bando" shows, the followers will also (wide brush, but it's true to a certain extent). If the leader was doing fan favorite shows, the followers would tend to shift in that direction.
  15. agree with this wholeheartedly
  16. do we have a repertoire yet? Sounds interesting.
  17. Blue Devils, Blue Stars and Velvet Knights... 2 Blue VK
  18. the Albacores of San Diego CA, and the Appleknockers of Geneva NY...the Apple Cores Chevaliers of waterloo iowa and the corvair cadets of flint michigan....Chevy Corvairs ......or the Corvette all girl of jerseyville NJ.....Chevy Corvettes Bonnies of new britain CT. and the Pittsfield Pom Poms of pittsfield mass...Bonnies Pom Poms you could go on forever at corpsrep...
  19. half the people on here think G bugles sound like the recordings...why should this be any different?
  20. too many variables...I'm ok with the pit being amplified...I'm not ok with a horn being amplified. I'm not ok with the pit being over-amplified, and not being penalized for it.
  21. BD will come in third place, and they will blame the fact on playing music with a melody, and they will never, ever, ever play a show that has melody in it ever again...
  22. I love the fact they are trying music other corps do/will not...Dream Theater? Really? Awesome!!! on the other hand...not a fan of guitars in drum corps...or bass guitars...or synths...or over amp'd pits...
