Just watched it after reading this thread. God, what a great show! Talk about runnin' and gunnin'. Reminds me why at one time they were hands-down my favorite corps.

They have a full line of G bugles....does that mean they still make them, or they still have a bunch in a warehouse somewhere?

That was the first thing I thought of when I heard that on the video! Hilarious. Four separate drum corps....playing simultaneously....where have we seen this before?!?!?!?

Looks like a great show in the making. I'm happy to say as an alumni of the group that I find Bluecoats shows to be among my favorites every year, at least since I started following the activity again in 2005. Amazing how much stuff is out there now before the season even starts. Used to be you had to be a judge or a member of the corps to get such in-depth explanation of the show design. Now we get all that online, and the early-season "first draft" version of the show probably isn't even finished yet!

Good sound quality is somewhat subjective. I think, for example, that Maynard Ferguson plays with a good sound quality. Many would disagree. Few would disagree, though, that it is very exciting to listen to.

Since when was learning to play another instrument than the one you already play a waste of time? This is the one part of the Bb argument I can't get behind at all. Back when 'Coats signed me out my first G sop, I didn't consider it torture, I considered it a challenge and an honor. BTW, where are all these professional F mellophone players? Is it a pedagogical waste to keep 12 of them around for the summer?
