  2. GREAT NIGHT GREAT SHOW GREAT PEOPLE THANKS EVERYONE OLD S'COOL ROCKS I CAN'T WAIT UNTILL I'M BACK IN LINE WITH THIS AWESOME FAMILY RF
  3. THe Madison Scout Reunion Performance Group is very different than any other. Our members are all marching alumni of the Corps and you maust have marched finals. The group is taught by Marching alumni, the show was written by all marching alumni. No one is being paid, all time is given for the love of the group. THe horns are unbelievalble. The drums awesome. The guard explosive. Never again will you hear a hornline like this one again. Go to Madison and see for yourself. I'm amazed at how prepared these guys are, every time we are together. To be working with such a talented group is truley an honor. RF
  4. Where are we going to party after the show????? not that is a priority just a pattern. RF
  5. Terri I could not imagine doing this project without the WEB. Cudos to you & 27 for doing an unbelievable amount of back ground work and communication. THat 's the part that nobody sees. And once again thanks for your help in the start up. It was a huge help!! I will buy in Allentown when I get off the field with Bridgemen!! Better yet as I come off the field hand me an ice cold Miller Lite!! RF
  6. Terry From start to finish, how long did it actually take? First official meeting through the show at DCI. How many performances did you guys do locally, concerts, parades and that sort of thing? RF
  7. Drum corps fans are like my uncle Elwood and aunt Margaret. The ef hated each other, argued at the drop of a hat. But could not live without each other. Back to the thread. When I put the idea to Dan A at DCI, I just assumed we would be perform on Sat. Then the rumor mill started that if we did the performance it would be on Sat but first, before any of the corps. I was not wild about going on at 4pm before everyone. That made me nervous, so I did what I do. I went to the source, Dan A and asked him straight out. He then informed me no, not Sat before everyone. But Fri night would be a great spot. At first I was very disappointed. I said those SOB's don't want us to take there thunder. We are SUPER ALUMNI!! But after talking with Dan and Steve Vickers I was convinced that yes, the Sat show is all about the competing corps. I truely believe that. (and I have had to convince many that I really believed in it). As anyone who knows me, DCI kiss asz or any other kisz is not my style. I also believe that Fri night is the best night to perform as an alum. We do our performance and shine the brightest on that night. We are the thing everyone is talking about. Not who actually will or has won. Then the next day we are out and amongst the friends, family and fans that we made feel so good the night before. Not in a car or bus or plane going back home. I want a day to revel in the excitement that MY corps has given to the Elwoods and Margarets. I will walk a little taller, smile a little wider with my Scout Alum shirt on, knowing that not only the fans but a lot of corps members enjoyed what we are all about. Fri will be the best. don't miss it. I won't, I'll be on the 50 yard line front and center in the first set. as for beingbanned no. upset #### no. happy for the oppertunity to perform RF
  8. OK You have now officially beat that dead horse to death! Now that that has been conquered, lets move on to cancer and then to world peace. RF
  9. Dude I am far from way off!! I am in the thick of it. I have 300 employees that ave about $8.5-$15 an hour with the mean wage about $9.5/hr, thats just the way it is. It is you who is La La land my friend, I invite you to Elkhart to solve the labor issues of the county. One of the top areas in the country in manufacturing jobs. The unions have out lived their usefulness. I was in unions and the rules they had got out of hand. If I finished my job early, I could not do anything else. If I did, even though I was doing nothing for the last 2 hr of my shift, I would have to stay and claim it as overtime. that is just plain crazy. In the Elkhart area $16 is a very high wage. Most labor intensive "factory" positions start as low as $7.00 /hr. with incentives in place, if you really want to work, you can make a living. How many of your union buddies will be starting at $7 /hr. Not many I'll bet. And you must pay the lower labor to compete and then I'm out of buisness and 300 people are out of work. I' m not saying that these are bread winning jobs. They are second jobs for the wives but they also get the insurance. Alot are mothers and single mothers that need the insurance for their children. .....I could go on and on. THe thing with China is once agin if your not in you can't compete. RF
  10. We hve two guys in the Madison Alumni Group that looked 40+ in the mid 70's. I thought the were the same age as my dad. THese guys actually look much younger now. Chris Braatz (FH) and Jeff Trout (Bari). They are getting younger looking. Darn them!!! RF
  11. Problem being wayyyyyyy to much money for unskilled labor. Some Americans today want to start at the top rather than work through the ranks. If a guy works at a plant and is getting $20 an hr after 20 years, the young guy that has and worked at his job for 5 min expects the same wage. THe bad thing about most of the product that I have seen is just as good a quality as American made if not better. Labor cost $ 10/hr US....$ 10 /day Mexico......$ 10/week inChina. If the Chineese compay looses money producing your product the are government subsidized. It's only going to get worse! How do you compete with that if your competitor is importing. You must do the same or the 300 workers that I have will be out of work. With the imported product you find other ways to be used in new products. That way you grow and keep your work force. Vicious cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And in Elkhart, IN, the RV manufacturing capital of the world, with the way the economy is, an unskilled $20-$25 an hr job striker is not looked upon sympatheticlly.. RF
  12. Nice job Scott Pearson. He also drives the Alumni site Once again, Great Job. RF
  13. After many conversations, Morgan larson declined to be involved in one of the biggest performances in drum and bugle corps history! Once in your life you get to do something that will impact the masses. His loss.... RF
  14. what in holyhell happened to the web site?? Probably not near enough party people to help with the economy after practices. My liver is sure glad that I joined. This way it has a break from the professionals. Kevin, the next Yohoo is on me!! RF :mmm:
  15. Does anyone have a recording of last practice?? Rob????? RF
  16. After struggling through this dissertaion of personalites, directions and various other usless info. I have come to the conclusion that if DCI had followed Scott Stewart idea's and not George Hopkins', it would be Scott's butt you would all be kissing and proclaiming the second comming. And without a doubt have crucified George. Fair weather band wagoneers.
  17. Jim and Bridgemen, I got my tickets and will need a place on Sat 4/11and Sun.4/12 Still a horn practice on Sat? RF
  18. 2 guys to the left of me in the pic is Leon Yberra, marched 97-98. He drove up from Tx alone. Guy to the left in the pic is Norm Baker. Norm is a local, marched 57-63. Me (Randy Ferrie marched 78-78)I now live in Indiana. Guy in the pic to the right is Scott Lile, he marched in that great 95 lead line. Scott flew in from Ga. All of these guys in the line are great players! RF
  19. You want old school? Come to Madison Wi. April 29.We got Golden Age, Old School and new School all rolled up into 1. We call it "Old S'cool". Continuous membership from 1951-2005 all marching and playing 1 style...Madison. We even got a guy from the original corps 1938!! 709 Madison Scout Marching years experience. Over a CENTURY of total marching experience!! RF
  20. That's right Robert! 103 brass. Not to bad for the first practice. Not just playing music but listening, learning and music theory and sound wave physics to be that much better. "IS THAT HARD TO DO??? YOU BET IT IS!!!" (J. Georgeson). This is not your fathers Alumni corps. This is MADISON being MADISON. I commend everyone on their hard work and focus for the weekend. Coming to camp that prepared just proves the commitment to this project. MYNWA RF
  21. Way to keep this place in shape!! don't want some crazy to get out of your line
  22. I Drum Corps is superior to marching bands, why the big push in that direction by DCI. A sax line or flute line is not going to shatter concrete! RF
  23. Jim Well I got my Bridgeman shirt today. I am so excited. I will get the skinny on my travel and let you know. I flew out on Monday after the snow, I was so bummed out when you cancelled the practice. I said to myself, "that chickensh... is afraid of a little snow!!!" What a mess!! Driving that big ol' crown vic in the snow was a treat. Give me a call please. I have a few questions. By the way, I am a HUGE RED SOX FAN!! I live and die for the Sox. I said 2 years ago that damon would be with the yankees for the money. ..good hitter.....always hurt .....arm like my Mother. You can have that p..... He can inject giambi and shefield. He also had the steroid suspisions. RF
