  1. If Ludwig can marry the deep Pearl tenor sound with a sturdy, even tenor frame (where the C and D dums don't sag), Ludwig will do great. More chrome on snares (top rim, bottom rim, rods) would be cool too.
  2. Allentown is the best! Can't wait!!! I have been going to Allentown since the late 80's!! Going to hit The Chicken Lounge and Yocco's Hot Dogs for sure!!! I
  3. I think it is the risk in visual performance.
  4. I was very impressed with X-men's drum line when I saw them in Bristol RI last week.
  5. Battery warming up in parking lot. Tips / advice from Crown Percussion staff on tuning; equipment they use; exercises, philosophy, etc.
  6. What technique differences did you see with Colin M's fresh approach?
  7. My favorites: Snares: Bluecoats / Phantom / Crown Tenors: Phantom Basses: Phantom
  8. Where is the May camp video? I don't see it on SCV's site. Can you provide a link?
  9. I love Pearl drums! Love the chrome hardware. The Bluestars drums look bad_ _ _!!!!!
  10. Awesome post - Please post updates as often as possible!
  11. How about Cadets '91 w/ chrome Pearls! Especially at the start of the show with something like 14-15 tenors (snares played tenors) playing Short Ride on a Fast Machine!!! That rocked!!!
  12. Yup it's me. How's Navy D&B Corps going? Say hi to Jeff for me - tell him we need the corps to come up and do an exhibition at NFA in the next few years.
  13. Hey Rich - it's me Mark at the end of the snare line! How's it going? I know we were never close to high drums but we sounded ok - don't you think?
  14. Just wondering if anyone has video / audio recordings from the 1990 CT Hurricanes? I marched and would be interested in buying a copy.
  15. Crown should put dark red / purple velvet sashes in their uniform to symbolize the curtain at the end of a production. What do you think?
  16. How did Pearl "drop the ball" with Phantom? In my opinion, those red 2006 Pearl drums and the blue 2007 Pearl drums were one of the most popular of each season. Are you referring to the fact that in 2006, Phantom switched over mid-season? Was that due to Pearl being late with the new red drums?
  17. Crown's show with the huge, semi-mobile chess pieces - They made so much noise (squeaking) when they moved, it was really funny.
  18. I was cut from 2 corps in consecutive years and regret to this day not trying out for another corps. Oh yeah, I also regret not taking up music in college. I should have been a band director. But no, I went to law school instead and have been paying student loans for over 10 years and I still have thousands to pay.
  19. I think you are absolutely correct - that has been PR's approach and it is great. However, have they won the titles they should have won: '89 & '06 (in my opinion) with that approach? Maybe 'being PR' is more important than having the most points anyway.
  20. Let's hear some creative ideas on how Phantom will portray the most famous quote from the story. It may be the biggest, most memorable moment audiences and judges will remember, putting them .1 over Cadets, BD, etc.!!
