  1. new type size? Sometimes if you hold ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel, the text size changes. I don't know which format you're talking about, exactly, but if you think the forum font size changed, try holding CTRL and scrolling the mouse wheel.
  2. I don't want to try to put an order to it, so in no particular order: - 1998 ... one of the first Scouts shows I saw, very awesome. I love Remembrance, too. Also, anime music, wtf. - 2008 - Last years' brothers put on a very nice show. A lot of it was obviously a bit unclean, but the content of the show was fantastic, and I think it laid the groundwork for what I hope could be called redemption in the years to come. Also, the drum break was sex. - 2007 - To echo someone's past remarks about an impressive thing for that corps to do. Also, I like the show in general -- particularly the opener. - 1995 - of course - 1996 - I think this beats out 1996 for me in terms of sheer awesome. Personal preference, though. (97 was not that amazing to me either.)
  3. That's a shame. I figured such. A Prairie Sound indoor line would be very convenient, if it happened. Yep. More specifically, I'd hope to at some point expand my experience of different instruments... bass drum, particularly. At this point it's kind of affecting my college decision because one school has an indoor line of its own but the other one... is basically better in about every way except cost. That's looking like my only (and best) option, not that it's bad. The train service looks decent and I'm rethinking my time policy (if it leaves at 7 and gets there at 1, that's a decent trip as long as I don't have to do anything, and I have family in St. Louis to drive me around if need be). Also, price is decent.
  4. I'm considering going to school at UMKC. I want to know what the best option for doing an indoor drumline from there would be. I'm not ruling out travel, though I'd hate to drive more than an hour or hate to ride a train more than two hours. (A train goes from UMKC to St. Louis [so I've heard], but I don't know how long that takes...? Also, price of tickets is an issue at some point.) Ideally I'd be interested in an independent open (so I could have an opportunity to do something besides front ensemble) though world would be cool too.
  5. So, I was going to post here that upon listening to it a few times, I think Dream Theater's "Metropolis Part I - 'The Miracle and the Sleeper'" could be quite the effective opener (probably only the first minute/minute and a half of the tune, and I am envisioning synths, though they'd probably be a bit unnecessary)... but Teal Sound beat me to the punch in 2004, it seems. Darn. I can't find any videos of their version, either. So, essentially, nevermind.
  6. Madison's unis are changing to edits of last years', yes. I can't fully verify what he said because even I don't know that much.
  7. Those thoughts weren't directly related, are they? (at least, not cause -> effect) I think the percussion lends itself very well to a field arrangement.
  8. Sounds great. I'm quite appreciative that it's an actual .mp3 and not streaming. yoink. Also, moderate lulz: "This was agreeable to me, as I don't like kids." and "Bandtastic! : A Concert Prelude." And I think SCV. For some reason I can't see anyone else delivering the energy.
  9. It's kind of sad that I saw this here first. I knew most of it already, but still. Couple of updates.
  10. Fantastic news, of course... I have a feeling that (if they had fielded and) if I had auditioned for them last year, I might or might not have marched that summer, and I definitely would be with them this year. I don't see myself joining them now, but I already recommended a friend of mine to keep out an eye on them if they come back. I'd prefer to see black and yellow. The combination has a very aesthetically pleasing boldness. But I wouldn't mind a uni design change, something a bit less horizontal. Not completely necessary, and now might not be the best time financially (it's a good time in other ways).
  11. I had a lot to catch up on, so I probably missed some... The list
  12. I'm going to not conform and not make fun of you for being an overprivileged jerk. Oh wait. No I'm not. (Missouri has zero still. >:O)
  13. Also, a peeve as far as the title goes: That does not say "ForbiddeN." The only ways to interpret that I can get behind are [interpreting all small capital characters as lowercase] "Forbidden," [literally] "FORBIDDEN," and [interpreting the spikes as uppercase] "ForbIddeN." Again, it is March. :\
  14. You even italicized it for me. I don't have to say anything. GRAMMAR FIGHT! Or not. Medea should be pretty cool. I've also never heard "My Immortal," but that might be neat. Perhaps I should speculate on the effectiveness of their book after having not heard it in March.
  15. terribly redundant. The most underrated corps will have some of the most underrated ballads by default. I have no idea how this is rated, but Madison 98 is a terrifically amazing tune which I love to listen to.
  16. It can be absolutely any instrument! From soprano trumpet, to mellophone, to baritone, to contra tuba trumpet, absolutely any instrument! Of the four instruments, any of them.
  17. Thank you, Mike, for dealing with this responsibly. It is truly a very misguided type of thing. It's a helpful service, but the having to click through extra junk is a little frustrating -- especially for some of us who don't have the best of internet connections for whom 2 clicks is not a short journey. And for the rest of you, this forum is called "DCP Member Service Center." "DEAL WITH IT LOL" is not member service, go away.
  18. I was under the impression more people disliked Scheherezade. Weird. Mine: 2008 Phantom Regiment 2008 Boston Crusaders 2007 Carolina Crown 2007 Bluecoats 2005 The Cadets 2005 Madison Scouts to be honest, I kind of regret Crown... I've personally seen that show enough recently... oh well.
  19. I'm pretty sure the "students" in question there are actual students of a high school, not members. Note the uniform youth, the fan shirts (I have that Firebird '07 shirt), the lack of corps jackets, etc).
  20. Agreed, the 05 thing is prevalent in my mind for a good one they did, and the 08 one I'm sure was supposed to be a just-spread kind of thing (I want to say there was a point in the season I'd seen them also "wailing", but I may not have). As for best, Madison is probably the most classy. I really like '06 Bluecoats' as well, even though most people would say most of them went overboard. And overall my favorite mojo section is in Cavies '01... there's a section where they're just standing there and I think, why the heck aren't they mojoing?! and then a small little transition and it gets even funkier and then they bust out the mojo. Also, musically I liked their '03 shout section. I have no idea who would be the worst to me. I'm pretty easy to please with it.
  21. Amen... I wasn't able to see live drum corps in 2008 and in 2009 I'm not going to have any good home show... as close as I'll get it somewhere in Illinois :\ I've certainly wondered plenty of things about them. Their current location is not terribly high on the list, though I can see what you're getting at... Usually it has to be a guard or pit girl, though, obviously. Especially one playing castanets in 2004. Some people might know what I'm talking about, and that's all I'm saying about it. :D
  22. 2008 Phantom Regiment Spartacus 2008 The Cavaliers Samurai 2008 Bluecoats Knockout 2008 Santa Clara Vanguard 3HREE 2008 Madison Scouts La Noche de la Iguana 2006 Blue Devils The Godfather, Part Blue 2006 Bluecoats connexus 2006 Carolina Crown In.trance.it 2005 The Cadets The Zone [dreamscapes in four parts with a door] 2005 The Cavaliers My Kind of Town 2004 Blue Devils The SummerTrain Blues Mix 2003 Phantom Regiment Harmonic Journey I chose a couple less popular ones that I'm fond of, but otherwise, fairly standard. (Also, to explain to "wtfs?!" out there... I tried not to choose shows that have been shown in recent Countdowns, so no Faust, Machine, Rhapsody... most Phantom/Cavaliers stuff, really :P) Also, I love In.trance.it so much. Everyone should vote for it. :D
