  1. Nah, just checked out the age out picture and didn't see him in there. I think he ages out next year and Ben ages out in '11
  2. I think Chris and Ben both have 1 more year, maybe 2. Not sure off the top of my head.
  3. Like I said in my original post, I appreciate what the members of Phantom did.
  4. Yeah for sure. Here's looking to another great year next year!
  5. Honestly, they must have improved drastically from Atlanta, because I thought their brass sound was a lot more immature compared to the last couple of years. The intonation was actually pretty bad at a lot of points. Overall I just never got into the show. I appreciate what the members did for sure (trust me, I know what it's like to face negative responses from the crowd and reviews). Here's hoping for a better show design for '10!
  6. Cadets '05 - Disliked it my first view then I found myself running to watch them after we would finish our shows. One of my favorite drum corps shows now! BD '08 - Saw it in Atlanta and didn't like it as I was watching it. But as I was walking back to the buses I found myself thinking about how cool some of the stuff they were doing was.
  7. Cool to see, but wow, not even close to a Top 10 list. I only saw 3 or 4 that would be on there...
  8. They give medals for I&E. But yeah, if I played a woodwind instrument in real life why not show it off? Now granted I am VERY opposed to them being on the field, marching. I&E is fine with me though...
  9. I am thinking maybe they got the idea that Crown fed into Cadets because they were both under YEA a few years back? Maybe?
  10. Yeah I never mind on field warm-ups if everyone is playing something together. I have never really liked when people just turn backfield and everyone just plays whatever they want to (I think Spirit and BD are doing that this year). I remember in '03 (I think it was '03) Cavies played Variation on a Korean Folksong backfield and I always loved it.
  11. How many of the BDB kids actually do go on to march BD "A"? I've never heard the numbers, and I was curious...
  12. I love Crown's show this year. I really do think it is an amazing production. BUT, I just really don't see them winning unless they have cleaned up A LOT from Atlanta. They were noticeably dirtier than everyone else in the top 5 (visually speaking). But then again, it isn't me judging Saturday night....
  13. I don't think any of us expected to see any to be honest. The '09 show is really good! I think the same can be said about '08 Regiment as well. I haven't seen anyone pick '09 over '08 yet.
  14. Boston has the best adjustment for this year. The white looks so good against the red of their unis...
  15. 1) 2000 2) 2005 3) 2007 4) 2009 5) 2001 6) 2002 7) 2003 8) 2006 9) 2004 10) 2008
  16. Holy Name Cadets - 98.45 Blue Devils Carolina Crown The Cavaliers Santa Clara Vanguard The Bluecoats Boston Crusaders Phantom Regiment Blue Stars Glassmen Blue Knights Troopers - 86.15
  17. That was a fun year for competition (even though you guys got us in the end). A lot of people started sheering because someone heard the scores incorrectly. They thought you guys were a tenth of a point lower i think. I think we were all sort of hoping for some of that '03 magic (14th to 12th) to help out, but hey, it can't happen every year!
  18. Nah, I don't think losing to the "new kids on the block" is going to dictate the quality and quantity of their rehearsal. What they are going to do is try and have the cleanest show possible so when they get the DVD's after the season, they will be proud of what they are looking at. I voted HNC mainly because I liked their show the most in Atlanta, with Crown a very very close 2nd behind them, then Cavies right behind them. I would honestly like to see the spread no more than .3 or .4....I think it would be completely justified as well.
  19. '84 for me. It was such a great, clean show. But '94 and '09 are both amazing shows as well. I'd take all 3 if I could!
  20. For me it was never a "Well there is always next year" it was always more of a "Man I can't wait to get back next year to personally be that much better." So I as always so excited to get back and keep improving my marching and playing through my entire career and was never became complacent with how I performed.
  21. I am somewhat torn on this topic. I think I lean more to keeping them separate. Maybe if they were judged on the same sheets night to night, and not split up, then you could consider it. To me this is the equivalent of letting a letting a Div. 2 college football team play in a BCS bowl if they went beat some of the big name Div. 1 football teams. I dunno, it would be nice to see more corps on Thursday, but really, as much as I hate it, don't the majority of people show up a few corps into the show anyways?
  22. Add another vote to the "I liked the first half, then it began trailing off from there." I really really enjoyed the opener. It was so good. But we know what i think about the placement haha
