Double Standard implies a binary interpretation. Some elements are very different and some are the same. Loved shows from those that you mention ... VK, Bridgemen, etc. I miss that those corps aren't here. But I think the reasons you don't see them anymore are layered, varied, and have little to do with clothing choice. And using one poorly designed 2018 show as some kind of exception doesn't really prove much of anything.

In reality the process for most is much more collaborative than you describe. Drastically so. And that is without even considering Crossmen, who has one arranger that does both.

I think this is astute. If I understand correctly: If Crown keeps ahead in percussion, passes Bloo in Visual, passes Bloo in GE ... bloo is in trouble. But on the other hand, Crown's only championship was won with 6th place in percussion. Lot's of what-ifs.
