  1. It doesn't take much to confuse me, and I am confused. I either went out of order, named the wrong guy with a right name, or named a wrong name. Either way.... I don't get a Kewpie!
  2. How about Cincinnati Tradition? Visit their website and have a look. (You didn't mention where you are located.)
  3. Okay..... Got one thing right/one thing wrong. This is perfectly normal for me.
  4. I may be barking up the wrong tree here. (It's been known to happen before). I met two brothers in Brigs in 1992/93. They have the Italian surname Tom's clue mentions. Their father was a long time Brigadier. From what I can recall, the family name is one who is synonomous with the Brigadiers (I was told). The last name begins with an ®. The story involving Sandy and I begins the night of a bus trip to a show in Boston, in 1993.
  5. Broke what? I'm still trying to come up with a clue as to who I think this guy is!
  6. I May have met a couple of his relatives, back in 1993. (my one season with the Brigs) Which of course, leads to a great "drumcorps story" involving Sandy McNeal.
  7. Cozy Baker is smiling. So am I! Congrats, Tom!
  8. My sister and I marched with Ohio Brass Factory, in 1982. That was her only year of all age corps. But if I may: Sandy McNeal will ALWAYS be my brother. Everyone already knows where we've been.
  9. Shorter drive, actually. The corps rehearses in Lawerenceburg, Indiana. Have him go to the corps website for info. We have a place for him!
  10. "DAT'S" NOT CLYDE! Thats somebody who pokes fun at my snakeskin boots. (tiny snakeskin boots)
  11. Ironically, It was Larry who invited Ohio Brass to Westshore's home show (DCA) In 1981 (or 1982 or 83). Also invited us to the forum show! But yes, OBF didn't do alot of DCA shows. This makes no difference to me, though. In the final analysis, OBF simply wasn't good enough to make the top 12 of DCA. We can blame this or that, or a percieved conspiracy, judges, whatever. I tend to look at my corps performance objectively, nowadays. I did not look at it objectively in 1983, thats for sure! I was young and stupid.
  12. (Enters the minefield): This just in: There is no conspiracy (nor was there ever) to keep a corps (or corps) from the top ten of DCA. Ohio Brass simply wasn't good enough to make the cut, in the four years the corps competed. Steel City didn't win in 1986 because Bush had a monster drumline. Kilties made the top ten this year, because they earned it.
  13. Well, They are comfortably dressed and playing trumpets. That's all I got, right now.
  14. Fred NEEDS a driver! He only flew once. Briefly.
  15. Long as we are waiting on the next photo.... "What I missed at DCA finals": TONY, some of the minicorps, Fred, before he goes on his Hawaiian vacation, dinner at the Dinosaur, "Sig",tons of other friends, Nanci too!! (tried to nag you into going), the Alumni Spectacular, (my feet needed a break) Did my first full retreat since 1996. Soggy, but fun.
  16. Now THAT may just draw the attention off our spats! An additional thought: There are three uniforms in drumcorps that should NEVER be changed, altered or discontinued. Cabs, Bridgemen and Kilties.
  17. Those few brave souls who still write reviews, are to be commended. The comments about the Kilties were not mean spirited at all. It was an honest and thoughtful review, in MY opinion. (and I am a Kiltie).
  18. On a related note, look for a return of tuned automobile brake drums, in 2012. Yes.. this is a blatant hint.
