  1. For us to even be having this conversation, I Blame it on the Blame it on the Blame it on the Blame it on the Blame it on the ... (kid doing a fine job, but mostly the rain)
  2. Blue Devils- 75.5 SCV- 72.9 Blue Knights- 59.9 Crossmen- 59.3 Pacific Crest- 57.9 Mandarins- 55.7 BDB- 50.2 SCVC- 49.7 Golden Empire- 45.6 BDC- 39.6 (perfect 100 in cuteness)
  3. Score predictions: Carolina Crown- 71.2 Phantom Regiment- 68.9 Cavaliers- 68.1 Madison Scouts- 65.25 Spirit- 65.1 Blue Stars- 64.6 Troopers- 61.8 Pioneer- 51.2 Colt Cadets- 41.15 (judged on World sheets this year)
  4. I know someone on staff who told me, "Either the crowd is going to think our show is awesome, or we won't be getting the fan favorite award again this year lol". From all the uncharacteristically positive comments I've been hearing/reading, compared to the past 7 or 8 years, it sounds like there might actually be less people on the anti-BD train this year. I'm looking forward to seeing how crowds across the country react to them this year, specifically San Antonio & Allentown.
  5. Crown- 71.25 Cadets- 69.9 Phantom- 66.65 Cavaliers- 64.325 Troopers- 59.975
  6. REPOST FROM THE OTHER THREAD: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so here is mine: When I watched the Cadets 2011 preview, I had the feeling they would win. When I watched Crown's first performance last season, I felt like they had that "it factor". I wanted to feel that again with this year's preview, but I just didn't. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it didn't leave that "this just might win" feeling with me like those mentioned above did. This show will be competitive & a crowd pleaser, but I really don't believe this will be our 2014 DCI World Championship show. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, though!

  8. Domes aren't always immune from rain. Anyone remember when the Georgia Dome flooded in 06?
  9. I just want to remind you, and everybody, that next season will be 2014, an even year. We all know what that means for Cadets......
  10. From what I've seen, it seems that the corps with the highest use of of cell phones is INT. The most looked at topic on the phones? Waffles. And now, back to your regularly scheduled off-season topic.
  11. If last night's scores are an indication, then I'd have to say the former, rather than the latter. After all, a 5 point gap is one heck of a statement from the panel last night.
  12. Anyone know if we should expect any of the recaps to be available tonight?
  13. Nope. I'm guessing they'll announce them, along with the first few Open class scores at the same time.
  14. Hi Kevin. From what I've heard, there's actually only 1 or 2 Riptide kids in the percussion section, & the rest is a Hodge-podge of Orlando area HS/College kids. It IS the Riptide battery equipment (and maybe front equipment) though.
  15. Funny enough, originally the end of their closer, which was a recall of "Laura" (their "ballad"/2nd movement) was going to be the original Los Suerte ending, screaming trumpet and all. They rehearsed it until a day before their family preview, but pulled it before it was ever publicly performed. For the people who know the show by the drill moves, that's from the condensing big arch to the end of the show. Exactly the same drill was used (except they stood still in the block at the end instead of breaking apart/over). Their 2010 show actually had a lot of little "Easter Eggs" throughout the show from previous shows in BD history (visual & musical snippets).
  16. I guess that means the toe-down experiment didn't work out &/or have the impact the way they wanted?
  17. No way am I going to read through all the madness on this thread, but this is all I'm going to say. Forget the brass & perc spreads. Nola Jones gave out a 100 & 99 in GE Music rep tonight before the Blue Devils even took the field. I'm all for Crown winning, but by clearly sending a message with individual judging like that, I don't think Crown really wants to win like that. Tomorrow nobody can say anything about any perfect scores (full or subcaption) they might receive & earn, but tonight, going on 2nd to last? That's just not good judging.
  18. Then you are very lucky. Don't hit refresh or exit out or you might lose it!
  19. Friday looks like a pro-BD panel, while Saturday looks pro-Crown.
  20. 2003 had a pretty memorable top 4: Blue Devils- Phenomenon of Cool Cavaliers- Spin Cycle Cadets- Our Favorite Things Phantom Regiment- Harmonic Journey Edit: Granted, Cadets 03 isn't usually mentioned as a "memorable" show, the other 3 are mentioned quite a lot as one of the corps' top shows.
