  1. Don't forget the SCV issue with the corps director (former Cavaliers director) and a male guard member
  2. WGI now requires mandatory "Abuse Prevention Training" for all WGI personnel (including judges and volunteers) along with all staff and leadership of all competing units. There has been talk about requiring this for all members Maybe the time has come for DCI to do the same!
  3. This case had been around since 2016. Many people in the activity knew about it for years. Including people in SCV and even WGI
  4. Tony Dicarlo gets his "entertainment" budget reinstated. Dinners on DCI Again!
  5. No word on this year. 2022 Trip to Ireland announced!
  6. We now know, "I HOPPY" coming to you from 2-10 daily! He has the name patent. Answers the ? as to why he would plead "no contest"
  7. A "misdemeanor" conviction like what H pled to is on the same scale as public intoxication or maybe the level of drunk driving.. He could become CEO of DCI with what he pled No Contest to. Not that DCI would vote to do that! LOL
  8. Because he pled No Contest, No Sex Offender Registry required! He could be back once the 2 years probation is completed. Although I think the publicity will keep him away. Probation could be dismissed as soon as 6 months by the probation dept. There will be no record once probation is completed
  9. As of 2011, Pa. bases registration on the date the offender was sentenced, convicted, or released from prison. Pleading guilty in 2020 means he will have to register for a minimum of 15 years or depending on the crime, a lifetime registration.
  10. Saw something on facebook this AM but it has since been removed.
  11. WGI held a zoom call with the local circuit partners and regional show hosts last weekend. The message from that conference call was to look for a decision on WGI 2021 by sometime in November. Many local circuits are planning a season to start in late Jan. or Feb. There was talk about making regionals a 1 day single performance and also about virtual performances. Most scholastic groups do not start practice until fall sports has ended in late Nov. so the Nov date seems logical for a decision. Independent Groups do tend to start their auditions in Sept. or Oct. They may want to delay that process until a decision by WGI is made.
  12. Traditional shows would possibly run in the spring (April and May) with a championship show in Allentown, The Meadowlands, or Annapolis on May 22, 2021. The fall season will be Virtual only. tThe idea here is this fall a band from Texas could compete and receive a score against a band from New Jersey or California.
  13. Us Bands announce V-Performances only for the fall. https://yea.org/news/new-virtual-performance-option-announced
  14. I applaud Cavalcade for their ideas to host shows. I just cannot see how there will be no chance at cross contamination as fans move about in and out of the stands. It also seems impossible to sanitize between the different groups performances. Will every person attending and or participating need to clear a health screening before entering the stadium?
  15. Are you saying Cadet's are part of YEA? Maybe you missed the announcement about Cadets separating from YEA! There was no Cadet bashing in my post. My point was to show the influx of funds needed for YEA/US BANDS to survive!
  16. I always thought the word was bull-frog. I learn something new everyday!
  17. From what I am hearing, US Bands/YEA is just trying to bleed money out of the bands by making them register and pay to sign up for shows. Then at the last possible moment cancel, or even better have the bands pull out, and keep the fees!
  18. NESBA cancels Fall Band Season https://nesba.org/nesba-fall-season-suspended/
  19. Sorry but show sponsors need to lock in dates and sites long before the spring of 2021. DCI or WGI may have multi year contracts for some featured shows. It is all the smaller regionals and weekday show host who will be impacted. It just is not a realistic time period. DCI may be able to wait until Jan. 21. I have to honestly feel WGI needs to have a decision on the 21 season by no later than Sept. or Oct.
  20. I find it very unique how this case is YEA that owes him this. Did he wait to file this until after the split between YEA and the Cadet's.? There is no direct mention that Cadet's owe him this. He is suing YEA and their prior Board. If anything this will impact US Bands as they are still part of YEA
  21. http://dcacorps.org/buell-resigns-as-dca-president/ Allen has stepped down as DCA President
  22. A while back, the Bluecoats press release about lost revenue from the virus stated their operating budget is 2.5 to 3 Mil per year. A couple of organizations you mentioned have annual budgets in the 5-10 mil range. I know an open class corp who is approaching the 800K-1 mil budget range.
  23. Take an office staff of 4 with salaries, taxes, and health insurance, you are at 250,000 maybe 300,000 not including the corps staff. Throw in stipends for the BOD (not all groups have volunteer Boards). Now add in rent or mortgage payments, utilities, insurance, travel expenses, etc., etc., your easily up well over 500K per year in operating expenses. I did not even include the six figure salary for the corps director. Most World Class corps are now multi, multi million dollar operations.
