So what do you do on the long bus rides?

Academy Equipment Stolen
PhantomRPhan replied to drumcorpsfan4567's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
That's a standard utility trailer. Paint it black, and it blends in with the lawn care vehicles on-road this summer. That will definitely be hard to find. Good luck to Academy this year. -
Hornline sizes this year

Hrmmm. Didn't someone say that they originally had 16 for this year, anyway? -

I believe Regiment is marching ~16 tubas -
Here's something that made me feel old: ten years ago, Star Wars Episode I was released... I agree that this has a bando feel to it... It's the buttons...

The Cadets have a Tuba opening!

If I had experience, I'd definitely try for it. Also being horribly out of shape from unable to walk normally (knee and ankle injury) would help. -
Speak up, I can't hear you!

lulz. I think you need to hit all corps.

Huh... With the old FN, I couldn't open the video with Firefox. Now I can. Hooray! No reason to use IE. I also like that it opens in tabs instead of new window. -

Only problem I see, is the show names aren't listed anywhere. Just the year. Might be confusing for newer FN members. -
Ever want to conduct a top WC hornline?

That is a very cool fund raiser. Great idea. Before the winner goes up with the baton, how much of a crash course will they get? -
Thought this was going to turn into an "All your base are belong to us" type thing...

DCI Countdown Volume !
PhantomRPhan replied to Triple Forte's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
The only way a theater couldn't turn it up would be if the feed's dB level was just too low. They could "turn it up" definitely, but it just wouldn't go much louder. *edit* Try this: if you have variable control of your speakers, play some music. Turn the volume down fairly low on the program that you're using. Almost inaudible. Then turn up your speakers and see how much of a difference it makes in volume. It won't be drastic. -
Best Rehearsal Shoe

Adding to the New Balance vote. *edit* Though, I would love to try some ASICS. -
Not everyone has a right arm... DUH...

If you're talking Phantom Regiment, I'll be very happy that someone else calls them that. If not, oh well...

Oklahoma has "All-State" and "All-District" -- Self explanatory. I don't know how many districts there are, but they're for every size, A through 6A. *edit* Sorry. I didn't read the statement thoroughly. All-State has the Concert Band and Orchestra, with Orchestra being the harder one to get in. The Concert Band isn't necessarily for "smaller schools."

Oklahoma sucks harder than Texas... And not because of this "weather" crap. It just plain sucks.

And the results are....

As a younger fan, I'm getting pretty tired of '05-'08. I wanted something older on that list! -

You should read his blog. The art department... "aged" it. Notice the rise on the upper register? -
I'm not a big fan of the King tubas. Unbalanced like no other, but it did feel comfortable in the hands. Not so much in the overall handling. The Yamahas are just about right, though it does have problems itself. Such as no real good place to hold with the left hand without some hyperflexion. Just from my highly limited experience.

I absolutely loved the timbre of that piano... Sounded so... "earthy"... -
Nice segue!
