  1. Also noticed, and I agree. Carrying a "fake" flag with a star missing or one extra star so you don't have to follow flag code is a cop-out as well.
  2. After listening to available versions, the Madison arrangement is very similar to Alicia Keys' "ESOM, Part II", which I purchased from iTunes. Which i would have never purchased from iTunes had Madison not played it.
  3. yup, same here. Also bought Nature Boy ( both the Miles Davis and the Moulin rouge versions), Creep, another version of Hallelujah ( already owned 2) Paint It Black, and even the music from the finals montage Closer to the Edge.
  4. Are Rocketeers competing as brass ensemble or mini corps?
  5. Cool! Got to see my sister Gretchen on bari marching behind her!
  6. As a fan and ticket buyer, this is what I would like to see. No "top", "elite", or 'champions", just well-balanced line ups with some special features at several shows.
  7. Star used the same set of 2-valve Kings for their entire 9 years
  8. I was at Drums Along the Mohawk (Rome, NY) and although the overall attendance was poor ( we were able to get fantastic seats just 2 days before the show), there were several high school band groups there. The announcers made a point of welcoming them each by name in between corps. Several of the larger local competitive band programs were absent, as the show is right in the middle of band camp weeks for the bigger programs.
  9. Basey's will be my first stop after the 10 hour drive today. Can't wait to be in the shadow of the oil can again. I hope to get there in time to catch the last few corps and scores on the live stream. Also looking forward to the Star event on Sat.
  10. Great Thread!! My standing o's are for 2 of the lesser talked-about corps, and one is an open class corps. I had never seen either of these corps live until this season. To the Legends of Michigan: Bravo to EVERY SINGLE MEMBER on that field, because you are showing that small is mighty, and talented kids who play well, march well, and move well can create magic on the field. Bravo to Pacific Crest. Your show made me smile, cheer and clap. I was ENTERTAINED!! You are putting your hearts into that show and it shows!!
  11. So jealousI I can't leave here until noon tomorrow, and then it's a 10-hr drive!!

  16. from your post to DCI's ears.......if only.....
  17. and the Bridgemen Alumni truly appreciate the stalwarts that stuck it out in the torrential rain. We had a blast and loved having those fans cheering and clapping in the downpour.
  18. Rome, NY and yup. Still Drums along the Mohawk. I used to come to this show when I was a kid, back when you could fill the slate with NEW YORK CORPS. Sad, really......
  19. Loved Academy horn line & percussion. Guard really needs to clean
  20. My first time seeing Pacific Crest. Ever. Love it!
  21. Poor Raiders had to look right into the sun. With only 6 corps, they should have started later. Legends were fantastic. Beautiful horn sound, excellent body, they just need 10 more in the guard. And....NO ELECTTRONICS!!
