  1. Either way, you are talking about a very talented percussionist. I think both gentlemen have a great deal of success ahead of them.
  2. RIP Locke Morrisey, a member of the Renegades family who often helped us sell souvies at drum corps shows over the years. The last two months have been a sad, incredible and seemingly relentless reminder to all of us how short and precious life is ... if you have a dream or life-goal that you haven't taken a step towards accomplishing yet ... today is a really good day for you to take that first step.
  3. I have video of the Renegades horn line playing and singing Ave Maria at Rich's funeral on my Facebook page, if you would like to see it. RIP Rich.
  4. Whether or not they find life on Jupiter, I think we should consider it an enemy planet.
  5. Hey cats -- The Smithsonian Institution will have a free screening of THE HARIMAYA BRIDGE this Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the Freer Gallery of Art. Director Aaron Woolfolk will be on hand for Q&A as well. FYI, a number of San Francisco Renegades are either actually in, or worked on, this film -- check it out! You can find more info about this film at http://www.theharimayabridge.com/
  6. Volume 7 .... Renegades, Renegades and more Renegades.
  7. The Top 7 Most Nonsensical Shows in DCI History 1. 1985 Crossmen (yo habla WTF) 2. 1999 Renegades (Hava Nagila + Black Saddle + gold sashes made by MAV) 3. 1992 SCV Fiddler on the Roof 1.0 (CA tour) 4. 1991 SCV Miss Saigon brass charts 1.0 (really? really??) 5. 1995 SCV Not the Nutcracker 1.0 (We're playing what?) 6. Cavaliers bicycle guard uniforms 7. 1988 Blue Devils. Great corps, great show but no BLUE to be seen anywhere on the field, a technical violation of Concord Blue Devils bylaw 70642.22(f), which I just made up.
  8. Failure is nothing to fear ... not trying is what you should be afraid of.
  9. That's interesting ... you're absolutely right about the growing number of junior corps on the West Coast. It seems like someone is trying to start a new one out here every other day.
  10. If you can somehow get every one of those fans to buy a ticket to DCI 2011, the activity can reinvent itself!
  11. Cool book, Michael! I also vote you check out this book, because there are DCI and DCA drum corps references hidden throughout it (true story) -- My Immortal: The Vampires of Berlin
