Yes! I sure hope we can! Us making their delta and them making our cross
-
I know you're posting in Open Class, but Crossmen may be an option as well. Even if you just want to go to a camp and see what it's like

I Love the Crossmen
xmarcoestradax replied to kickhaltsforlife's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Unity, seeing Bones on the field as we perform, the attitude, the bad ### unis, and the friendships I made marching with the Crossmen -
Again like other people have said in another post, make this decision on your own. Not marching because of your parents is a decision you may regret. Don't let engineering be a negative for you. Our drum major was an engineering major, and many other people were pursuing tough degrees. I say audition where you want and wherever your means will allow. Go and even if you don't make it you will received valuable information that can be used in upcoming camps or future years. Get the experience and just soak it all up. Saving up by means of a job is always a good thing, and sponsorships will be discussed at camps and any other fundraising opportunities that corps has. Best of luck and keep working!

Crossmen are about 2400. But you'd have to fly out and pay for camps

Auditioning on tuba for Crossmen
xmarcoestradax replied to Lunchbox's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Physically you'll be fine. You'll get the audition packet when you register. When I auditioned we chose a technical and lyrical etude and played a few lines and some stuff from the packet. They're not necessarily looking for the eat player or best marcher. Be confident, have a great attitude, and be a great student. They can teach playing and marching. They can't teach the right attitude -
cool! I had a friend who march Oregon Crusaders. Not sure the year though :/ I'd say 05 or 06? Not quite sure

Ahhh ok!!

By all fairness, you were only off one spot. But congrats to BDB, OC, and SCVC!!!
-
could you count Mandarins or Pacific Crest northwest? Just asking, not too keen on my northwest geography lol

They took something outta the SCV book apparently!

Corps Numbers and Instrumentation?
xmarcoestradax replied to bmt2116's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
When I marched we had 24 sops with 3 parts split in 8's. Now that the Flugels were added I'm not sure what the split is now. I remember counting 8 Flugels I believe, but didn't count trumpets :/ it did seem like a smaller mello line so maybe they took from there. As far as the euphs and baris, it was two Bari parts and one euph part -
Corps Numbers and Instrumentation?
xmarcoestradax replied to bmt2116's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I could be wrong but I think Crossmen are marching 80 with a Plate line. I wouldn't know the exact split either because of the Flugel line as well -
That very well could be...just curious, who else marches Dynasty?
