  1. You know now that I look back after being a big fan of Drum Corps for a little more than a year, I have come to a few conclutions that I would like to somewhat debate and what not etc. Anyways! Personally I found that the old BD's stuff was my favorite, Carolina Crown has the best hornline in my view, Cavaliers have the best drill design and can march it very well I might add, and that personally I think Cadets do a horrible job of narration, triple crown was ok, but nothing special, personally I have found that the Bluecoats have doen the best narration by far. Just a couple of my views I have gotten from watching all of this DCI stuff, perhaps you guys could do a little bit of debating over it? Thanks for helping form my view on this stuff guys, alot of views came from posting on here.
  2. ######, haha just kidding, anyways I do high school band here in tennessee so were outside and its hoooooot, Personally I prefer hot rather than cold, thats my view
  3. My friends down in Nashcorps had that as one of their songs, (music city drum and bugle corps) just throwing that out there, go little bit, boog, shaft, and patrick!
  4. http://mall.ballparks.com/images/normal_memphis_17_8626.jpg Memphis's stadium for more noneducated football fans, believe me its something to march there, did it my freshman year in high school. Practically the whole first part was filled up
  5. http://prod.static.titans.clubs.nfl.com/as...ium/stadium.gif for those of you who dont know football here is a picture, anyways, that or memphis
  6. Nashville Titans stadium (although im a pats fan) nashville is 30 min nirth of murfreesboro so close by haha, um its music city (catchy isnt it) and I think there needs to be a change up rather than the major places up north where theve had them in past, though I will say, there is quite a bit of aluminum and steel that makes it up (been there with my dad he's a titans fan) but the basic floor and what not is concrete, I guess its the same way a lucus oil field?
  7. The audience is what your concered about, the judges are to judge your show regardless of wether they like it or not, the more people that love you the more you have a chance of bringing into drum corps
  8. That wouldve made a nice, thats what she said
  9. The main one inside, and have a smaller one outside
  10. Well I would say Crown cause im a Crown fan, but I cant deny vanguard, theirs was by far the best! Crown would be second id say
  11. I love the drill, butttttt I agree the marching and things are very sloppy, the hornline is by far the best in my opinion the loudest, though BD's and Cadets put up a good fight, Crown's hornline dominates plain and simple. I agree if they can pull it next year to where they can get the visual down alot then they may have a good shot It takes time for a corps to get good, and Crown has been around to where they now have put the time forward and they are shining Id love to be able to march with them after high school (im a junior) personally for corps I believe that you may win, but if you will always win if the crowd loves your show and if its one of their favorites you'll be remembered for years to come. Though some years youll win but there nothing I praise cavaliers niagra falls, I like 95 cavaliers that was a good show, out of 2007 I dont really think oh yeah those guys cause they won, I remember triple Crown, that was a show right there, it connected to the audience I felt. as for this year Ill remember the BD's and their chairs, buuut Ill always look back on Carolina Crowns show, the Cavaliers, and Boston Crusaders shows, and vanguards, Crown was just a plain awsome show. Cavaliers had a cool storyline, Boston had a GREAT designed show, and vanguard was just so beautiful. its just in my personal view people love a corps for what they are and the show designs they have, if you win the crowd then you'll be remembered for years to come, but if you win the championships but not many people liked the show, then you wont be talked about on a daily basis, thats my take
  12. Im just now getting into it, so my opinion isnt quite well rounded anyways, personally I see that Drum Corps had their hayday in numbers back in the day when there were so many corps you couldnt count em etc. AAAnyhow I personally think that people my age see a 3000 dollar fee to march (Im assuming total cost and money for the tour) and watching them live makes you want to do it, but A) it costs alot B) it looks harder than it is I assume. When I first got to marching band it looked harder than it was, but I learned and it wasnt hard like you initially think it is. Anyways I think that society has gone away from strong supporting of local bands etc. I know that the local DCI open class down in nashville (Music City Drum Corps, we call them NashCorps) if people know about it they still have their favorite corps that they like like Crown or BD's etc. But we all kinda pull for these guys cause their A)local B)we know guys who are doing it and support them. In my view hgh school and college band has grown in size, but drum corps have shrunk because kids arnt that into marching band, they like it, but its not that serious to them, the ones that do love it and want to march professionally are few. thats just my take, I want to march, just gotta get some money donated and work for it and should get close to affording it out of high school, my director said that it helps when you become a high school band director (which is what I want to be)
  13. Personally cadets turned me away when they did their narrating shows and with overuse of electronics, Crown does use em, I dont like it, but its very limited which makes me happier, still not happy, anyways, I love Crowns drill design more than the cadets, but the only thing that takes away my preference of Crown is the uncleanliness in the drill, I love everything, but atleast their cleanliness is getting alot better I will say, so in a few years I may go for them, if I can only afford to march one year I might as well march for the guys I love
  14. Me and all of my friends and the directors we have really rather dislike the synthesizers and the sound enhancers it doesnt seem to do anything, personally I dont mind some voice but it has to be VERY limited, aka: Cadets sucks at it, Bluecoats did it well when they did it, anyhow, I personally prefer to have the show concept or title given to me, and they march and play it to the best of their abilities, basically clearly explain the show design with not audio assitance, and out march and out play everyone else. Thats my take, alot of people I know despise it beyond belief. Contrary to what the corps think
  15. Screamers BD's haha well I know what would work, consistant screamers with some more jazzy shows, where they dont just play standing still or hardly moving, personally I like the the music they use its just they dont A) move very fast B) their not jazzy like they used to be...
  16. Perhaps two souvie trailers? one smaller one outside and the bigger one inside?
  17. Wasnt at the Imax down in Nashville to watch it, I was in Band Camp up here at Siegel, sounds like a disapointment, but um if you were preaching a sermon id give you an AMEN. I agree that that is disgraceful
  18. Well I want Crown to win hands down, but I personally think BD's have been on an upswing for so long that SOMETHING has to give, I think that in finals it would be great to see them win, but Crown is nipping at the heels of them, id love to see my favorite corps win, personally, Crown I think has the drive to pull it.
  19. I know Crown had problems with announcers being early or late in the preshowq with the announcements and about midseason from what I saw they got it right, um at the m'boro show I liked the guy doing the announcements cause it was intense and he was on time with when it waas to happen, but I think he mightve been a replacement because the announcers are usually told when to say the whole sha-bang, so he mightve been a replacement from how it sounds, though Crown doesnt salute....
  20. I think in the years theyve been around theyve really improved as a whole, Id say next year theyd have a really good shot at finals
  21. I love em to death, I think their a Crowd favorite because of the hornline more than anything, I think marching isnt to good yes cause it just isnt to clean, but the hornline,... good night! thats all I can say, their my favorite also, GO CROWN!
  22. As of now I believe Cavies are peaking, and it will be between Crown, Cadets, and BD's
  23. Personally Crown is my favorite corps so personally I think they are GOOD enough to win, its just a matter of when in my view, I mean if your this high up you ought to win some time or another. I think BD's are gonna peak, Cavies are showing signs of falling back, and last Crown and Cadets went against each otehr Crown ended up on top, Im not sure waht will happen next cause Crown and Cadets will always go back and forth for the season, all I can say is Go Carolina Crown!
