  1. i like what your thinking but i am predicting crown to have a better run than they did last nightand expect them to stay about a point ahead of cadets
  2. LOL its funny to see how one judge differs from another. just one night before at the chesapeake show the scores were exactly the same except crown had the 15.4 and cadets had the 14.8. but my brother also said that he felt that they (CROWN) had one of there worst runs of this early season so far
  3. 1- Crown 2- Cadets 3- Blue Stars 4- Cavies 5- Madison 6- GMen 7- Colts 8- Pioneer
  4. striped pants for spirit you say. i guess i will have to wait to judge them in person. i was a big fan of the blue devils pinstripes. but like i said will wait and see what i think of them in person. but i must say that crowns uniforms are really growing on me. the more i see them playing them the more i like them. the sleeves have to me much cooler and easier to play and perform in than a traditional full jacket. i give them credit for taking the initiative and thinking outside the box and being innovative with their uniform design
  5. thanks for the review, some great descriptions in there
  6. congrats to cadets for closing the gap. apparently they have cleaned a few things in practice. both corps, at least in this stage of the season, seem to be running off from the cavies. anxious to see crowns show again after they redo their ending and put the other one on the field. but again congrats to crown for another win and an incredibly hott start to the season as well the cadets.
  7. wow congrats to crown, i exppected the spread to get smaller not larger
  8. just watched drumline video of crown and the more i look at the uniforms the more they grow on me. have to admit wasn't the biggest fan at first but they are definitely growing on me. and the sleeve have to be much easier to move in and esp for the drummers to play in than a full jacket. expecting another great performance from them tonight
  9. Not really a lot to do or change from last night in haolf a days worth of practice. I expect the placements to most likely be the same. However I do expect the gap between cadets and crown to drop some. 1.5 for first show was kind of wow!
  10. i hope we get a recap, just helps with an understanding of the scores
  11. http://www.dci.org/scores/ officially up on dci
  12. congrats to my brother and the rest of Crown!!!!!!!!!! looks like this will be another awesome yr for drum corps as ive heard all three shows tonight were great. congrats to all groups and performers on getting the first one over with and out of the way. as they say in a good bud light commercial... HERE WE GO
  13. thanks thats definately a help so far. much appreciated
  14. would love to get a nice review from someone who was there when you get a chance. cant wait to get to a show to see these great groups for myself. shows sound great so far from what im hearing
  15. dangit. hate that i cant be there to witness it. hopefully somebody from the the show can put up some lot or performance videos. even if they dont stay up more than a day or two im really anxious to see some of this
  16. i must agree i do like the crown unis much better with the little jacket/vest things. although im still not the biggest overall fan of them, i dont see the uniforms keeping them from performing what ive heard, a very fun and exciting show
  17. i think these groups will definately be in the top 3 tonight......lol but as far as placement goes i would have to say 1...Crown... 75.2 2...Cadets... 74.6 3...Cavies... 73.9
  18. I didn't think it was all that bad. indy is an awesome city with lotts of good food and plenty to do. the staadium was beautiful. granted the acoustics could have been a little better - 1 cutain and an open roof. but fact of the matter is dci signedan agrreement for it to be here for 9 more years. and like you said its not WGI or BOA. I'm not going to boycot world championships becaause of a venue. I'm not going to miss out on these amazing performances because the very first yr it was there had some rough edges. I'm looking forward to going back next yr and seeing it again that's for sure
  19. absolutely. they have totally proven themselves to be a fan and crod favorite and their shows the past 3 yrs have been very phenomenal and entertaining. this group is definitely capable of being next yrs champion. they have the staff the brass and now it seems the percussion to be among the elite in dci. I will be both very excited and interested ti see the show that they design and come up with to entertain us in the upcoming 2010 season
  20. blue stars had a great season. I would have had them right where they are . there was just so many good shows in front of them it was just hard for me to see them higher than 8. phantoms score to me was a little dissapointing. I had them in 7 just behind bluecoats. I think we were all a little spoiled last yr by spartacus. that was just a truly amazing arrangement they gave us and was extremely tough for anyone to have to follow up. cadets...well its very hard to be dissapointed with any kind of medal although they had a truly amazing show for their 75th anniversary and I would have had them in my top two shows this yr along with crown being ahead of bd. cavies. they were classic cavies but their show didn't move me like their shows of past. there a numerous corps that would have loved to finish where they did this yr. I know its been forever sonce they have been out of the top 3 but with groups like cadets re-emerging and crown coming up like they have their might be many more yrs to come where fourth or fifth is where they end up. crown has an amazing sound and this staff has been putting together some absolutely amazing and entertaining shows as of late, so who wouldn't want to march their right now. they certainly will be the next new dci champion. overall I don't think it was necessarily a bad yr for the midwest but just an amazing overall yr for drum corps. bd"s 13th championship, holy name with an amazing 75th anniversary, crowns first medal in their 20 yr history, scv back in the top 5 I mean can we really ask for anything else as fans
  21. yeah the corps was in the midst of a phenomenal show. they had like 3 or 4 standing O's during the show, then around the 2/3rd's point a snare drummer went down and almost took another snare and a bass with him. it took him til the end of the set to really get back in because thier spacing got thrown off big time. from there they had a few step off issues as well as other spacing issues. i was sittin 18 rows up on the right side 40 and it was obvious from there that something got in their heads and their performance was a little off the rest of the show. cadet fans should not be bitter about the drum score for many reasons. 1 the drum judge was right out there with them when it happened and witnessed everything that followed afterwards (ie the stepoffs spacing issues ect.) 2 im sure this kid is just feeling terrible and beating himself up like crazy for what happened. but this kid has absolutely worked his A** off all summer to perform an amazing show for all drum corps fans. no one needs to add to the guilt or pain he might be feeling by saying if it hadnt happened they would have gotten second. that may be true but if that kid happened to get on here and see that how much worse do you think you just made him feel? 3 dont blame any judges....people were on here most of the early season saying that the judges were going to hand the championship to holy name because it was their anniversary year and it was like destiny for them. now there is like a complete 180 saying that he scored them low on purpose to keeep them out of the top 2. gimme a break. the cadets crown and bd all had an amazing show. and if i were going to pic a gripe of any kind with a judge it would be the visual performance judge. after watching cadets and crown march around in craziness (esp cadets) with their drill, to then have bd come out and not be near as exciting (for me at least) and to say that they perfomred perfect visually. but hey no sour grapes here. they went undefeated all season and they earned their championship just felt the score was a bit high. congrats to all corps on an amazing season and i would espcet phantom to finish much higher than 9th next yr you can count on that
  22. so let me get this straight. if another corps has played any type ovf music arrangement, then another corps cant ever play becasuse it belongs to a particular corps. gimme a break. and as for fans enjoyed the 07 and 08 shows better, they may have, but crown was still voted the fan favortie this yr by the fan network.
