I noticed how they ALL had long hair! I was wondering if they were required to have long hair or maybe wearing extensions? Or just a fluke? Beautiful nonetheless! PC made me cry!! I am so happy to see them doing so well!

I'm sorry! I am seriously not being sarcastic! I didn't realize you weren't watching on F/N. -

And how did you think they did with their circles today? To me they looked great, but what do I know I'm just a proud SCV age-out mello mom -
2010 DVDs are the best ever!
Lightness replied to oldbandguy's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I received my DVD on Tuesday via UPS delivery guy! I've watched all 12 corps several times and, WOW, much respect to all the corps. The sound is gorgeous and I'd say this DVD is just absolutely PERFECT! -
I also read that blog and mentioned it to my son (he marched SCV this year). His response after I told him about the tick block was, "We could have used something like that." He mentioned something about mental errors and how that might have helped. He said he ran when he wanted to, but it was not required for punishment or otherwise.

Ryan, Get better, soon! May the force be with you! Bus Driver, Thank you for helping Ryan! As a drum corps parent myself, all these kids are my own. Thank you for being there for one of ours. May the force be with you as well!

My son marched with SCV this year and he was required to have proof of medical insurance or they would direct him where he could buy a three month policy. Because most of these kids are in college I am assuming they are covered under their parent's insurance policy.

I can only imagine what that was like for the corps - especially those who marched with Zach.. -

Were they successful in leaving his shoes on the field during the age out ceremony yesterday? I can't wait to see this documentary! -

Fan Network Plus Subscribers
Lightness replied to Lightness's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I noticed it says for Fan Network Plus Subscribers access to all VOD's, except for finals week. I thought that meant the VOD's from finals week, but I'm thinking maybe that means no access to ANY VOD's during this week?? I just upgraded though because I want the DVD - another $90.00 for the standard DVD. And now I can watch all the VOD's. Is $90.00 a discounted price for the DVD? I've never bought a finals DVD before so I don't know how much they normally cost. -
The theatre I went to was packed - with mostly those under the age of 18.

I have the Plus subscription - one step up from basic at a cost of $59.00. Is anyone else unable to watch ANY videos? I checked all the 2010 ones, and from the list of past years. I can't watch anything and the Plus subscription isn't even offered anymore. The only subscriptions you can buy now is the basic one, and the blue ray (HD) or DVD subscriptions?

I was in a packed theatre in southern California. Lots of Blue Devils and SCV alumni in the crowd. Also quite a few guard people who yelled out loudly at all the great guard moves (especially the big guy in crown.) Very respectful group and nobody was booed. It was a lot of fun! I went crazy for Madison Scouts and SCV, cause that's where my baby is : )

BD is staying at a hotel?

The non-drum corps friend that I dragged to the theatre tonight said she heard that as well. As far as being an unfair advantage - by this time in the season I'm sure the kids could sleep anywhere. -

The sound and picture quality at my theatre was amazing - and it was really f**king loud - after I went and spoke to the manager! -

Zach is the drum major at the end of that video - the one smiling. -

Life is so precious and when Zach passed it really hit me hard. I never officially met Zach, but saw many pictures and heard stories from my son who had marched PC in 2008. I think of him and his family every day. I visit his facebook page often - R.I.P. Zachary Headden (look that up on facebook). R.I.P. dear Zach - you are so dearly missed. -
Yes - SCV!!

Hostrauser's DCI Rankings - Week 7

So tonight's show doesn't count in these rankings? -
After reading the closed thread on The Cadet characters I had to go watch their 2007 program with the trumpet player who got beat up but loved to play his trumpet. Now that had me laughing so hard I was in tears! And the way the "beaten trumpet kid" was speaking I'm sure he had A LOT of great laughs about it as well! When my kid marched with PC in 2008 the most memorable moments for him were jokes about whatever show they were performing, bus wars, slip n slide showers, bedtime stories (read on the bus by a 21 year old member from the forum section of his x rated magazine), the hype tunes on the way to a show, singing with the corps, putting on the uniform, family & friends coming to a show and the endless amounts of hugs. We, the fans, take this thing called drum corps way too seriously.
