  1. Patty, pretty sure you're the only one I know who could even think of working that up/playing it. Have my babies. Also, congrats on the nailing it.
  2. I think they were scored about right. Great and entertaining show (where I actually found myself humming the tunes post-show), but the fact remains there was tons of dirt in the feet that translated directly to the hornline sound and guard collective. Drumline was about where they usually are in the pack. Also, as per the "big names" topic: Everyone keeps mentioning the "Texas talent pool" and how Crossmen should be easily in the top 12 with that talent to choose from, but almost always people forget that MANY Texas kids would rather go to out-of-state corps (myself as example) because of being a long-time fan/having a long-time dream of marching somewhere.
  3. shortened up your post for ya. I feel bad for you, truthfully that you can no longer enjoy an activity as enriching and precise as this. I hope you find something you like again someday. And don't EVEN tell me "old" fans leaving the activity is a tragedy. They will be replaced, easily, ten-fold. If you could see the area I live in and how many band kids convert to Drum Corps-ism DAILY you would know dci is alive and well. Will be for a LONG time commin... Also this isn't flamebait (at least any more than booing is...)
  4. Nono, everyone was Blooooing a second time. The newcomers merely thought it was a Blue corps thing and dint catch on until Bluecoats. They were ready next time though.
  5. You have to be kidding me. No. Just no. Go to bed, you're done. For the love of god, I BEG the mods to close this. This night has enough buzzkills as is.
  6. ...and age outs. That said, congrats on the biggest season EVER for the corps. Here's to hoping next year recievea and lives up to the incredible talent displayed tonight.
  7. Did the finish the show? I would imagine it impossible to get to the kid AND get him off while dodging marching members
  8. The girl that runs out at the end was the one who died at the end of the 2008 show: confirm or deny.
  9. Amen. At the beginning of the season, who REALLY though those two would be where they are? Both have kicked butt and taken names. Kudos to the new Bloo high score. I hear you get an extra life when you break the high score, so maybe next year will be an even BIGGER turn of events? :)
  10. THANK YOU! This is truly what it boils down to. People will argue placements and details until the day is over but the fact of the matter is that these kids are getting a quality education and memories to last a lifetime. I saw friends of mine on the feed of the age-out ceremony. Manly tears were shed. Tonight we celebrate, but remember that they have come far and overcame a lot to be there. Cheer like never before :)
  11. :) They have a point here... When explaining it to people who have never been in the activity, I just say "it's a summer long marching band with big audiences." As per the OP, I would say he's covered the bases on hatred. Can't think of many other ways to hate people... Haters gonna hate. Honkers gonna honk. Just keep doing what you're doing and the kids will continue to entertain us. Can't wait for results tonight...
  12. Thank you! Obviously I win that one, so everyone should quit trying :P On another note, anyone counting who has how many age outs?
  13. I like how they already gave the placements for everyone but cavies and BD. No hope for the BC/cavies swap I suppose.
  14. WHY DID I NOT CATCH THIS! THIS IS GENIUS! I was wondering this myself. I am now UTTERLY in love with that end. Gorgeous.
  15. No way. That guy KNEW the camera was there (hence the look RIGHT at it). He was "getting it" and is my hero.
  16. SCV is growing on me. I was floored the first time I saw it (because my rage couldn't be contained), but I find it kind of catchy now. Blue Stars should be ahead though because their show is summed up by the word "power". Go Regiment!
  17. Our theater in Dallas had no real problems. A bit of fuzz midway but it quickly cleared up. I LOVE how the commentators told it like it is. Everyone was loving it. Also, the theater I was at was MOSTLY high school students. About 90/10 to older people (I saw a thread earlier about that). ONE MO' THING: Did anyone else see the guard guy who ran into the shot of the pit with a huge cheesy smile on his face? Forgot the corps but he had red stuff around his eyes. Our theater cracked up.
  18. It's interesting how some people complain about Bluecoats being divided into two words, but then abbreviate it as "BC". Interesting food for thought :) ' Also, unbanned now lol
  19. I don't think there is a way around it, but it was a good idea! Wish I would have thought of it first Peace love hugs smiles sunny days, etc.
