  1. I hope they do something with the drum break during the transition after the ballad when Rhianna makes an appearance. That drum break, while very difficult, is really just noise. There's no flow to it, other than the very end when they hit a little groove right before the trumpet feature, and the body movements from the battery are too much. It's one of the worst transitions BD has done in awhile, in my nearly worthless opinion.
  2. Yeah, some of the criticism of the visual program is warranted, but the ballad isn't the problem.
  3. They'll medal for sure imo. If brass can keep hanging in the top 3 they just might win it.
  4. Brass guys help me out. LOVE the ballad, but it seems like the main melody is done strictly by soloists, which is fine, but it seems to get drowned out by the rest of the corps as they blast the harmonies. I come away wishing more lead trumpets were on that melody. Maybe it's just the audio quality of the videos I've seen?
  5. Disagree with regards to SCV. BD almost beat SCV by a point in GE tonight with a visual package that's likely not even close to finished.
  6. Pretty wide gap between BD and SCV in GE. Very curious if SCV can consistently beat BD in brass and guard. Not likely. BD hanging close with SCV in drums. Gonna be interesting.
  7. Can't remember anytime SCV beat BD in color guard. Wow.
  8. Yeah, don't know what the stairs are for. Almost like they just picked stairs to put something out there. I'll keep the faith they'll work it out.
  9. Too many imo. Almost like they're throwing in crazy runs like Scouts used to do cymbal hits. Overkill if you ask me, which of course no one is.
  10. BD show will look a lot different come August, especially visually. We'll see. I don't think any corps has a show that can't be beat.
  11. Visual aspects of show definitely need work. There's very few actually drill sets the last 2/3rds of the show. I'm sure they're place holders until they can finish the drill.
  12. It's better than I was envisioning for sure. Far better than K-Pop and whatever that mess was last year.
  13. BD show is......wow. Opener is refreshing. Really liked the rifle feature as a complement to the insane brass book. As others have said, second half of show needs work, but overall it's an outstanding show. SCV going all in with the brass book is great to see. Really strong show. Drumline top notch as expected. Red Team is always a fan favorite but they usually fall short of medal contention. That might very well change this year.
  14. Ironically, much of the music of the South Park movie is surprisingly well written, content aside. Don't think I've ever laughed harder in a theater than when they broke into "Uncle F#%$*r."
  15. Well we've seen trampolines, mirrors and ramps on the field. Someone will have to roll out a trapeze and/or human cannonball next season.
  16. No. None of the top corps operate that way. They don't look at the last winning show and say, "let's do that." What we will continue to see is more elaborate use of props and electronics and confused emphasis on staging.
  17. Always proud of my Devils. No matter the outcome. Congrats to all members for a great season.
  18. Which is way it's kinda ironic that there really was not a lot of shuffling at the top this season. It was BC, BD and CC, in that order, pretty much all season. It actually turned out to be one of the seasons with the least amount of volatility at the top in recent years.
  19. Similar thing happens in 2014 when Coats stole silver from Cadets. BD applauded loudly when that was announced and went to congratulate them after the awards were done.
  20. Coats just smoked everyone in GE. Bigger margin than I thought it would be. Other captions pretty close. What happened to Crowns drumline?
  21. Congrats to Bluecoats. Impressive climb the last couple years. Nice work BD. Held on to that silver. Big ups to Academy.
