  1. For sure. If the percussion judge can't come the battery, the battery will come to the percussion judge!
  2. I suggest you watch the video a couple times more. The guard is well integrated into drill very frequently. One thing I did notice was that under those lighting conditions the guard uniform blends too well with hornline uniform. Maybe that's why you lost them in drill? They differentiate a lot better under stadium lights (but I still think it's something they may need to adjust).
  3. Actually the music is very fresh for Crown. Not at all like what they normally play. Guard will be fine this season. Writing is 100% improved from last season (esp. flag moments). I think the staff changes are already showing. It will be a true CrownGuard a la 2013. Visual design is not going to an issue at all with this show. The bones are there already.
  4. Klesch has outdone himself. Wait 'til you hear it live. It's heartbreakingly good.
  5. I know where you mean and I could see that.
  6. Their social media team is here. No idea if they will be live streaming on any platform.
  7. Yes the preview is tonight at 730p at Nation Ford HS. Gates open at 5. If your hear and want to say hi in person pm me.
  8. All in for the premiere. (At least that we know about). All in tonight in fact.
  9. FJM already has their studio shots. That stuff was all produced by Crown. I get trying to build the intrigue -- but invariably most these uniforms look WAY better on the field than they do in the "artsy" shots. Anyway...
  10. I think people forget how that show affected them at the time. There may never have been a more overwhelming audience favorite.
  11. On the field they look fine. Not sure why corps create all these studio images of their uniforms. They never reflect what the uniform looks like under the lights on a field.
  12. "akin to" is not equivalency. it simply suggests a relationship. you jumped to a faulty conclusion by including an assumption in your inference. this is an extremely common error. anyway this is diverging far off topic.
  13. Too late . Your chad has been counted. (userids were stripped as part of the data normalization. im not gonna worry about it now. maybe if i do a final run before the premier i'll subtract your votes)
  14. Based on how the props are used I don't see this happening.
  15. It's a very close partnership and Matt actually does some arranging at Crown. Klesch was arranging for Academy -- they certainly did not sound like Crown.
  16. Bored so... Here's a summary of DCP's predictions. Data is from May 1st to the present. Only took the first 15 spots. corps avg place Blue Devils 1.7 SCV 2.1 Bluecoats 3.4 Crown 3.7 Boston 4.3 Cavaliers 5.9 Cadets 6.9 Blue Stars 8.5 Blue Knights 9.2 Mandarins 9.8 Phantom 10.9 Crossmen 11.4 Spirit 12.5 Madison 13.7 Colts 13.7 Academy 14.1 Music city 15.0
  17. Inferring is akin to assuming and you know what they say about that. It’s a crap shoot as to who brings the music for a given production. Heck sometimes even the drummers have a good idea!
  18. Well duh! Of course the entire design team has input on music selection. And I'm not sure where I said the name "Keith Potter" anywhere. My (very simple) point (that has now been twisted into some sort of negative comment) was that music selection was not just up to arranger (whose primary function is to arrange!) . As for being "Crown"-like, the productions the new designers have fielded are extremely Crown-like. However the musical arrangements have not been. Nor has the characteristic sound. Boston sounds like a Gino hornline and Colin percussion line. So...despite your attempt to spin my comment as some sort of put down, we AGREE. (Oh the horror).
