  1. Just my own personal opinion. I just can't see the show the Bluecoats have this year dropping at all. All due respect to the Scouts though, as they have a tremendous show this year as well, but with the sound Bluecoats' brass puts out there and the way their percussion plays, I can't see them falling.
  2. I agree. Last year, there wasn't much jockeying for positioning throughout the season since most corps stayed put, at least at the top (except for Cadets/Phantom at 3/4). It'll be interesting to look back at the end of the season and see if what we're all seeing now actually pans out, or if there are some major position changes.
  3. Not out of the realm of possibility, yes, but its still pretty unlikely to happen.
  4. I LOVE the new ending Bluecoats have in there.
  5. I'm reading so many negative comments on here so far.....
  6. Bluecoats and Madison have gone head to head once this year. Albeit early (June 25th @ Fairfield), Bluecoats had a 2.4 point spread over Madison at that time.
  7. Is this right? I just pulled this schedule off of the Cadets website for the show
  8. World Class 1. The Cadets 81.800 2. Phantom Regiment 78.600 3. Bluecoats 78.300 4. Boston Crusaders 74.900 5. Jersey Surf 65.350 Open Class 1. 7th Regiment 69.950 2. Raiders 65.850 Recap
  9. Here's the lineup for tonight: 7:08 7th Regiment 7:25 Raiders 7:42 Jersey Surf 7:59 Intermission 8:19 Boston Crusaders 8:36 Bluecoats 8:53 Phantom Regiment 9:10 Cadets
  10. In my experience with Bluecoats, no. You just have to prepare everything that is a part of the Blue Way packet that you purchase prior to your audition.
  11. You're correct, this is the second time. I would imagine BOTH corps have a few things left to work with :P
  12. Seeing what happens between Phantom and Bluecoats will be very interesting going forward...
  13. I'll throw out my guess for the top 12: 1. Carolina Crown 2. Blue Devils 3. Cadets 4. Bluecoats 5. Phantom 6. SCV 7. Madison 8. Cavaliers 9. Boston 10. Spirit 11. Blue Knights 12. Blue Stars
  14. I know what you mean. I like the parity we've seen thus far. Crown and BD, Bloo and Phantom, Troopers hanging around Blue Stars and Crossmen. Should be an interesting season going forward
  15. I find it funny how the early-season scoring goes, especially where you now see Cavaliers and the Madison Scouts ahead of Phantom and Bluecoats. For example, Cavaliers have been at three shows with the Bluecoats this year, with the spread between the two growing each time (3.3, 4.65, and most recently, 5.1) But hey, I guess that's what we get early on where corps are not competing head to head every night.
  16. They missed some updating on this site....apparently Bluecoats never got that 75.4 they had in Fairfield. That and their Akron score isn't on their either.
  17. I agree what you said about Scouts and Cavaliers being ahead of Bluecoats. The Bluecoats have gone head to head with Scouts and Cavies a few times this year and had a pretty decent spread each time. It was once they went their separate ways that these scores went in different directions. But as many say, we'll all see the truth once we get to the regionals.
  18. In one way, it's nice to see them as they come, but I feel like there's something to be said about seeing them all at once...
  19. Bumping this with the show having started, if anyone's there to give updates...
  20. I believe there are still quite a few non-music majors. I, for one, was a business major playing college baseball at the same time, so I guess I would be about as far away from a music major as possible and still marched corps.
  21. Well, if the weather holds off, I'll be particularly interested to see where Bluecoats and Phantom stack up after that really, really close one in Akron.
