I have genuinely no idea, my only guess is they've just been doing a lot of shows + incorporating a lot of changes all in one go. Maybe 3-4 days of dedicated rehearsal is exactly what they need to tighten everything up

In the end, it’s really not a big deal. My opinion is just a bunch of meaningless words that have no impact on real life decisions regarding this. My comment could’ve been just as easily ignored if this was considered small potatoes.

DCP, the only place where people state things as objective fact… despite the fact that the professionals whose whole job is to adjudicate these things say otherwise

I made no crass comments about the announcer (or any at all for that matter, can’t say the same for some others on DCP), all I am saying is that maybe it is time to take a break if he is having a hard time performing the main aspect of the job. I would think it’s in DCI’s best interests that the paying audience can understand what is being relayed. This is not any different than the comments that get made about Brandt every year (who I always defend). If me saying he should take a break until he recovers is considered lacking compassion, then so be it, this will be my last post about it. But I won’t apologize for my opinion as nothing I have said is wrong, rude, or insensitive.

Some things are bigger than competitive placement. A man that goes by George H was quite successful competitively, but we all know how that played out.

When I used to be an admin of a forum, I had access to the IP address of everyone who participated on the forum. Obviously, IP addresses aren’t foolproof and can be spoofed, but many don’t go through that trouble. If there were ever people posting with multiple accounts, it was very easy to see that. I wonder if the admins of this forum can do the same?

Given the razor thin margins among the top 4, I don’t think it’s a safe assumption that BAC will be the corps to pass up BD. Could just as easily be Bloo or Crown, especially if Crown maintains their recent success in the percussion caption.

Or, he calls it like he sees it. By that logic, almost all judges are fairly predictable, since they quite often place BD first I say almost, because that J Webb’s got a mind of his own 😉

My aunt is a healthcare worker (as am I) and has long covid, I very much understand on a personal level the debilitating effects it can have. But looking at this from a non-emotional position, if a condition prevents someone from performing their job at a competent level, then it is time to take a break until they make a full recovery.

Do we? On 7/29, in Atlanta, he judged GE1 and gave Bloo 4th in GE and Crown 2nd. The very next day at NightBEAT, he judged the exact same caption and gave Bloo a resounding GE win over Crown. Seems like a guy who calls it how he sees it on any given night to me.

As much as I sympathize, maybe it’s time to retire from announcing if this is the case.

Just reading the recaps here, I am quite interested in the Vis Analysis scores as well. Based off of what I saw of the Allentown streams, Crown appears overall cleaner (other than their new closer) which is why the VP scores make sense, but being behind Crown in VA content is intriguing to me considering how lost Crown's guard (and the overall corps) gets on the field due to some questionable uniform choices

Some interesting percussion scores for BD lately. Does anyone with more knowledge on percussion than I know why they've been stagnating so much in that caption? They were pretty consistently posting top 3 finishes in that caption until very recently

Unsafe for a small group of people. As I said before, it may be crass, but money outweighs that small risk, especially when any incidents are likely not something DCI would be liable for. What motivation does DCI have if they aren't liable for someone falling on the stairs?

Also, the difference between 5th and 7th this season is going to be essentially nonexistent. It will just come down to judge panel preferences
