  1. Haha! Celestial? GH? Are you pulling one of those Uransus jokes on me?
  2. They’ll be fending off the 12th place open class corps (Shadow) that caps their membership to those in grades 8-12 Sad.
  3. Bronze! (Congrats to Gold for making open class a Cali sweep)
  4. Is this the same design team that gave us 2017? I appreciated that show for it’s radical departure from the past and thought it set Madison up for a good ‘18 season. What a disappointment.
  5. Open class aren’t seeded among World Class for prelims.
  6. Northern Aurora Les Eclipses Les Etoile Any other celestial names other than the obvious?
  7. Lol! They would also have to cough up a chunk at some point also.
  8. If people could apply some critical thinking skills before opening their mouths it would be less of a problem.
  9. He didn’t catch the autocorrect in his apology. ‘Definitely’ came out as ‘defiantly’ twice.
  10. Thanks, I’m fine. A hazmat suit would be more appropriate.
  11. I highly doubt the one time payment of whatever amount for some side gig is going to take food out of the mouth’s of his children. It’s not like he was a full time employee of Flo Marching.
  12. Differently wired brains seems legit. I take issue with men having more emotional or physical stamina when it comes to drum corps. Or for that matter, testifying before congress for eleven hours ;-)
  13. The thing is, he didn’t post any study to back up his claim. I’ll file his post under “people say”. Lol
  14. He looks apolitical to me, in a craggy sort of way. ;-)
  15. It’s sad you took that route rather than pointing out Kristi’s accomplishments. Maybe leading PR to a world championship and following it up with conducting Wagner is more important than an adolescent crush.
  16. If he had just admitted to saying something ill-informed and stupid instead of doubling down on his comment I could see giving him a pass. Minutes ago someone said something equally cringe worthy on a different dcp thread. Basically turning a woman into an object rather than acknowledging her accomplishments. Wake up guys!
  17. 1976 Wausau Story. In their first year of DCI competition they placed first in Class A. Granted, they existed a few years prior but didn’t participate in DCI. They had strong financing from Employers Insurance of Wausau (the “story” in Wausau Story).
  18. Here’s some funny and even insightful comments from my trumpet playing buddy who doesn’t quite understand my fascination with “marching band”. Oddly enough, he’s also an in demand finish carpenter. I made him watch the opening two minutes of Blue Stars. ”why are they dressed like old timey carpenters?” ”are those Timberlands?” ”oh, now I get it, cheeky” (crosses himself the wrong way) “God bless you Karen”. (He’s not gay. Lol...or catholic) ”wait wait, replay it” “really?” “Replay it again” ”don’t those twirly people get splinters?” “What? No s***!” Replay it again ”did they just do an accelerando/rubato thingy with their feet?” “Cool!”
  19. Can we all agree that Regiment and BD are both pretty
  20. This needs to be on the screen at Lucus Oil!
  21. I was thinking more of the administrative end but you’re correct. The top four high school marching bands in the state are also within a half hour of their headquarters.
  22. There are so many resources here in Milwaukee for non-profits. UW-Milwaukee has a post-graduate certificate in non-profit management. Perfect opportunity to pick up an intern at the very least. NewWaukee is an organization made up of young professionals whose main objective is to start serving the community, mostly they’re looking to serve on arts boards. Marquette University has a wonderful grant library with incredibly helpful staff. It’s as if Pioneer is running on willful ignorance.
